Synopsis

The true story of American artist Margaret Keane (Amy Adams), who became famous in the 1960s for her paintings of children as large-eyed waifs. Her husband, Walter (Christoph Waltz) took credit for her work.

He lived the high life while she toiled in relative anonymity in the Bay Area, until Margaret experienced a personal awakening due to the feminist movement and sued for the right to use her own name on her artwork.
