Synopsis

A widowed grandfather (Kevin Costner) is left to raise his biracial granddaughter after the deaths of his wife and daughter. When the little girl's paternal grandmother (Octavia Spencer) decides to fight for custody, he becomes involved in a bitter custody battle.
