Synopsis

Set in the 1980s, TWA pilot Barry Seal (Tom Cruise) is recruited by the CIA as a drug runner in order to help counter the emerging communist threat in Central America. Barry's role in this operation leads to his involvement with the Medellin cartel, which embarrasses the Reagan White House after the Iran-Contra scandal became public.
