It is true to the Resident Evil franchise and has no pretensions of being anything else. The best scenes are in the opening minutes-- after that it becomes a guns solve everything adventure. I'm giving it 3 stars because odds are I'll watch the next one.

I saw the premiere and I enjoyed the first half of the movie, however the last half hour was unbearable. Really over the top shooting and bombing scenes was just too much for me. If I had seen it alone, I would've left. Even my boyfriend was bored... :\

not the best of the series but there still entertaining, hope the next is the last and hopefully it goes out with a bang. they just need that something that was in the first three!

if it wasn't for all the slow motion the movie would have been 37minutes long! [over indulgent, michaelbay-like] didn't expect much, and got less. resident evil team phone this one in. (aka. half-assed effort, exploited loyal series fan$)

the resident evil franchise does what is does well: it knows its audience, and it does not take itself too seriously. the opening sequence was innovative, and the "suburbs" section was the only scary portion of the film (the movies lost the scare quotient long ago when guns began solving all problems). i liked the inclusion of both old (often deceased) characters and characters from the game(s). i also like the tongue in cheek game references. personally i did not think that the 3d added much, and making everyone have superpowers detracts from the fear factor.
