Julia Roberts is PEOPLE's Most Beautiful Woman of 2017 Published By Tribute on Apr 19, 2017

Julia RobertsJulia Roberts is PEOPLE's Most Beautiful Woman is one pretty woman -- at least in the eyes of PEOPLE, which named her Most Beautiful Woman for a record-setting fifth time.

The 49-year-old actress first nabbed the honor as a 23-year-old in 1991 and was bestowed the title again in 2000, 2005 and 2010.

While chatting with PEOPLE about this year's fifth title, Julia said, "I am very flattered."

She also poked fun at pal George Clooney, who has been PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive twice. While discussing her five honors compared to George's two, the Erin Brockovich Oscar winner joked, "I'm going to mention that in my Christmas card to the Clooneys this year."

Throughout PEOPLE's cover story on the Pretty Woman star, Julia delves into topics such as her 14-year marriage to cinematographer Danny Moder, her role as mother to three kids, and her secrets to beauty.

Julia said, "I think I'm currently peaking."

As for Julia's film projects, she's currently heard in theaters as the voice of SmurfWillow in Smurf: The Lost Village. In November 2017, she'll take to the screen in the drama Wonder alongside Owen Wilson, Mandy Patinkin and Jacob Tremblay.

PEOPLE's previous Most Beautiful Woman honorees include Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, and Jennifer Lopez. Michelle Pfeiffer and Jennifer Aniston have twice earned the title as well.

Do you agree with PEOPLE's choice to name Julia this year's Most Beautiful Woman? If not, which star would you have chosen? ~Matthew Pariselli

Amy Adams would've been a better choice.

    Amy Adams?! Are you serious?!?!
  • Joe Swanson - 4/19/2017 7:47:37 PM

Amy is an interesting choice... I think my vote would go to Naomie Harris.
  • Lee Mac - 4/20/2017 10:20:10 AM
Julia Roberts ?.....was the vote restricted to PENSIONERS ? she was hot in her day but c'mon that was a Long Long time ago Natalie Portman or Charlize Theron or even gawky looking Jennifer Lawrence is by far a better choice !

There are so many beautiful actress'out there couldn't they pick someone who hadn't won before? From their list it seems they are only choosing women age 40 and over? I would have picked Jaimie Alexander, she is very beautiful. I like Julia Roberts but I haven't heard of her being in any film/movie/show for quite sometime.

She's probably a reflection of the age of their readership. She's beautiful, but I think they should limit the number of times someone can be chosen. There are a lot of other women who deserve the title, it begins to look like a popularity contest when one person is chosen so many times. Same for the men, once is more than enough to stroke a celebrity ego.

Absolutely a perfect choice!!! Julia Roberts is a talented actress who commands top salary & can play a multitude of characters...she has never been type casted in anyway & played everything from a Hooker to a Detective..Julia Roberts is humble, wholesome, & clean living...she is a woman that every young girl, woman & even a senior lady can look to for the true meaning of a Pretty Woman...Julia Roberts is a great role model for today's women..

Don't necessarily agree with this choice, but I really like and appreciate that they're giving the title to slightly older women as well! It's encouraging! As a 32 year old, I am appreciating this more as I get older! ;) As a teenager or someone in my 20s, I might have been more annoyed. But women 35+ are definitely still hot and beautiful, so way to go People Magazine for not only honouring the young'uns!!

My vote goes to either Rachel Weisz (47 yrs.) or Rachel McAdams (39 yrs.)
  • Debra - 4/20/2017 12:53:35 PM
    Charlize.
  • mack - 4/20/2017 1:48:40 PM
Jennifer Lawrence.. she's beautiful on the inside too Charlize if they want an older candidate. Amy Adams.. ick.
  • Fuad Ramses - 4/20/2017 3:04:57 PM
Julia Roberts?!? She's a despicable person! Anyone who bullies their own sister into committing suicide is far from beautiful if you ask me.
  • Kris - 4/20/2017 6:49:32 PM
Fuad, What the heck is in the kool-aid you have been drinking?
  • Fuad Ramses - 4/20/2017 7:29:56 PM
Kris, I haven't said anything that isn't true. Look it up.
  • Snepts - 4/21/2017 12:03:03 AM
Natalie Portman is an obvious choice. Amy Adams or JLawr? Well, at least somebody has a sense of humor...
  • Gareth - 4/21/2017 1:00:36 AM
Kalesi Mother of Dragons (Emilia Clarke) or her Secretary of State Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) therse two are volcanic hot!! Come on, how can they not choose someone from Games of Thrones, just pure hotness on that set! Julia Roberts I have never found hot, too much of a horse face and gangly uncoordinated body, sorry.
  • MightyMad - 4/21/2017 9:22:26 AM
PEOPLE obviously accepted to sink further and further into irrelevancy with this pick...
  • joem810 - 4/23/2017 8:26:09 PM
Megan Fox! There are lots of beautiful women tht could and should have bn chosen. Who decides this? Old bifocal men?
  • TeeDee - 4/25/2017 7:12:15 PM
Julia Roberts is still a beautiful woman, but People should only allow one win per person. It's ridiculous to name her 5 times. They would never print the exact same story 5 times, so let someone else have a chance.
