Liv Tyler quits hit TV series due to COVID-19 fears Published By Alexandra Heilbron on Sep 24, 2020

Liv Tyler in 9-1-1: Lone StarLiv Tyler has decided not to return for the second season of Fox's series 9-1-1: Lone Star, in which she starred with Rob Lowe.

Tyler had a multiple-year deal with Fox for the firefighter drama, but told producers she's opting not to return because of issues related to the coronavirus pandemic. During the first season, Tyler was commuting from London to Los Angeles, where the Texas-based series is filmed.

"What a thrill it was having a movie star of Liv Tyler’s stature to help us launch the first season of 911: Lone Star,” showrunner Tim Minear said in a statement. “We loved working with Liv and will be forever indebted to her for her haunting, powerful portrayal of Michelle Blake. While we were able to tell a complete chapter in Michelle’s story, as with Connie Britton on our mothership, we also feel like there are more stories to be told. The door here will always be open for a return.”

Tyler's role will not be recast -- instead, Gina Torres has signed on as a series regular in a different role. She'll star opposite Rob Lowe as a paramedic who returns to the workplace after the pandemic leads to financial struggles in her family.

Smart move. It's not worth losing your life over. Other people on movie sets have come down with it and the numbers are climbing faster than before.

It’s sad that she’s not returning but it’s definitely the smart thing to do for her family and of course her own health. I hope she returns later on.

She's doing the right thing, it's not worth it to lose your life over a job.

the COVID-19 virus nonsense of media and political agenda and Liv Tyler is no exception to the fear that put in people mind, your not losing your life as the media of number of deaths is complete bull with no proof of number of people dying having COVID-19, i have a person at work that was tested positive with the virus was gone for 14 days then then came back to work and his fine, and he isn't dead !!!! so Liv Tyler quitting is pointless because if u live in fear then it does u know good and then you're heath is really in danger

well I'm one that was affected by covid-19, so for her to quit at this time to be with her family was the right thing to do, it's sad that people still think it's a hoax, i guess until someone in their family dies like my mom did, that's when the doubters maybe believe it's no joke.
