It's been a long time coming, but Mark Hamill is finally set to receive his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Star Wars franchise legend who will forever be known as the actor who played one of the most seminal characters in film -- Luke Skywalker -- was "#Speechless" according to his Twitter post when he learned the news.

Mark recently made his return to the role that made him famous in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens and will be seen again in this year’s highly-anticipated sequel, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

But while most know him as Luke Skywalker, the Jedi master and son of evil Sith overlord Darth Vader, Mark has also made a name for himself voicing Batman villain the Joker in the DC Animated Universe.

Certainly, this is a well-deserved accolade for Mark who has had a successful career and has been a fan favorite for over 40 years!

The star is presented by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce as a way to honor icons (fictional ones, too!) in the entertainment industry, and anyone will agree that Mark Hamill is most definitely one of them. ~Alexa Caruso
