New on DVD - 'Paul, Apostle of Christ' and more Published By Tribute on Jun 19, 2018


There are lots of exciting options to pick from this week’s new DVD and Blu-ray releases! If you’re a fan of satirical comedy, you’ll want to check out The Death of Stalin starring Steve Buscemi. Paul, Apostle of Christ - While Paul (James Faulkner) is traveling on the road from Jerusalem to Damascus on a mission to persecute and arrest Christians, the resurrected Jesus appears to him. When he converts to Christianity, Paul is captured by Roman Emperor Nero, who wants to get rid of all Christians. Paul is held in the dark, bleak Mamertine prison in Rome, where he's endlessly tortured. His friend Luke (Jim Caviezel) risks his life to venture into Rome to visit Paul, who has been sentenced to death.

Pacific Rim Uprising - The world is still attempting to recover from the devastating attack of the monstrous “Kaiju” 10 years earlier. Now in a period of peace, rebellious Jake Pentecost (John Boyega), once a promising Jaeger pilot, has resorted to a criminal life of stealing Jaeger parts. When a surprising new threat arrives, Jake is recruited to team up with his old co-pilot Lambert (Scott Eastwood) and 15-year-old hacker Amara (Cailee Spaeny) to once again square off against the otherworldly monsters and save the world.

Midnight Sun - Katie Price (Bella Thorne), 17, has had a dangerous sensitivity to the sun since birth. The only time she can leave her house is at night, so she sleeps during the day and at night, is a subway busker who plays her guitar. When she meets Charlie (Patrick Schwarzenegger), she's afraid to tell him about her condition. When they finally go on a date, it goes really well -- until she has to run home when the sun starts to come out. Charlie is filled with questions, but Katie starts to avoid him.

Unsane - Sawyer Valentini (Claire Foy) is being stalked by a man named David (Joshua Leonard). She blocks his number on her cell phone, changes her email address, takes out a restraining order and moves many times. She looks into support groups for victims of stalkers and, thinking she's signing papers to join a group at a mental health center, winds up being involuntarily admitted as a psychiatric patient. Not only that, but she believes her stalker has followed her and is posing as a medical worker to get close to her. As Sawyer continues to see David all around her, she begins to wonder if she actually is crazy.

The Swap - Ellie O'Brien (Peyton List) is struggling to juggle rhythmic gymnastics and troubles with her best friend in this Disney Channel movie. Meanwhile, classmate Jack Malloy (Jacob Bertrand) is trying to live up to his brother, who was a hockey star, and consequently, his father's high expectations. When Ellie and Jack have an argument about whose life is more difficult, they trigger an inexplicable real-life swap as they are literally forced to walk in each other’s shoes.
