A scientific mathematical formula that measures facial features has determined that Robert Pattinson is the "most beautiful man in the world."
The Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi, which measures physical perfection, was used to measure the eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, chin, jaw and facial shape of numerous male celebrities. Pattinson, 33, was compared to other celebrities and came out on top with a score of 92.15 percent.
The percentages are determined by measuring the length and width of a person's face, then dividing the results.
Pattinson, who is currently filming the lead role in The Batman, rose to fame when he was cast as Edward Cullen in the 2008 film Twilight. In the novel the movie is based on, Edward is described as "beautiful" multiple times. Although there was some criticism from certain corners when Pattinson was cast was Edward, whoever hired him must be smiling right now.
The British newspaper Daily Mail, which published the findings, credits these findings to London-based facial cosmetic surgeon Dr. Julian De Silva, who runs the Centre For Advanced Facial Cosmetic And Plastic Surgery. He explained he uses the technique in his work, saying, "These brand new computer mapping techniques allow us to solve some of the mysteries of what it is that makes someone physically beautiful and the technology is useful when planning patients' surgery."
Other male celebrities named in the top 10 list of Beautiful Men were:
Henry Cavill (91.64%)
Bradley Cooper (91.08%)
Brad Pitt (90.51%)
George Clooney (89.91%)
Hugh Jackman (89.64%)
David Beckham (88.96%)
Idris Elba (88.01%)
Kanye West (87.94%)
Ryan Gosling (87.48%)
