It also inspired people who'd seen the movie to form over a dozen conservation groups to protect these magnificent creatures.
Sharkwater Extinction, which debuted to a standing ovation at last year's Toronto International Film Festival, has already won awards at film festivals around the world. It enjoyed a theatrical run last fall in Canada and debuts in select U.S. theaters on March 1, 2019, and in the U.K. on March 22, 2019.
