Sylvester Stallone's character in Guardians of the Galaxy revealed Published By Tribute on Apr 19, 2017

Since director James Gunn confirmed Sylvester Stallone's casting in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, many have been clamoring to know what role the Rocky and Rambo franchise actor would play.

James hinted that while the part is not a "huge role," it is still a "very, very key, important role." Thanks to leaked press notes from Marvel's first press screening for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, it can now be confirmed Stallone will be playing Stakar of the House of Ogord, a.k.a. Starhawk.

Who? If you're not familiar with the character, who apparently has beef with Michael Rooker's character, Yondu, Sylvester gave some backstory during an interview: "Stakar had banished Yondu many years earlier for doing something wrong and he finally sees him almost twenty years later...And then we have a confrontation which is pretty intense and it's kind of a father/son type of thing and now he's going to have to pay the piper. His karma has come back ten-fold."

While it's not confirmed Starhawk will appear in the Guardians sequel, there's a definite possibility he could make an appearance in one of the five post-credit scenes of the film that were recently announced. We also know that the Guardians will be making an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War, so it's possible Starhawk could appear there.

Regardless, he's been established as an existing character and it will be interesting to see when Marvel decides to introduce him in one of their future Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

Curious to see if Starhawk will appear in the Guardians sequel? You can find out soon enough as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 blasts into theaters May 5th. ~Alexa Caruso
