Tom Cruise is just like us, folks! Or most of us, anyways.
The Mission: Impossible star risked his life and almost killed himself for the perfect selfie. Can you relate much? Tom and the crew were filming a few scenes for The Mummy on a helicopter 2000 feet above the Namibian desert. In between takes, Tom hung out of the plane for a candid photo, scaring the life out of his co-stars.
Co-star Courtney B. Vance recalled the incident, saying: ''They told everyone, 'Don't take any pictures.' We get up in the helicopter and he's like, 'Wanna take some pictures?' He's funny. He was hanging out of the helicopter, taking selfies and pictures of us. Crazy!''
That's Cruise for ya! When USA Today asked him about his risky move, he replied: "I just really wanted a different kind of a shot. So I had my seat belt just loose enough to hang out. It was fun."
We all know that Tom loves to do most of his own stunts. Earlier this year, we chatted with Tom's stunt coordinator Wade Eastwood about working with the actor. He said: "Absolutely, a lot. We certainly put our heads against each other. That’s non-stop. That’s my nightmare on a daily basis. He wants to do it all and he does 99.9 percent of it. It’s very difficult to be one of the best actors around and a great producer and a great creative professional and also be a world champion motorbike rider, skydiver etc."
But we ain't complaining. Tom, can we see that epic selfie, pretty please? ~Marriska Fernandes
