Wonder Woman has been undoubtedly one of the biggest blockbusters this summer and continues to build upon its box office success. So it's no surprise that we are already hearing talks surrounding a sequel, although most of the details have been scarce until now.

According to Screen Rant, we’ll see Diana make another historical adventure, moving on from World War I to the 1980s as she battles Soviet forces during the Cold War. Of course, the sequel will bring back Gal Gadot as Diana, but there possibly could be another beloved character making a return as well.

It has been reported that Chris Pine will also make a comeback for Wonder Woman 2, although it's not exactly clear how he will return after his character's fate at the end of the first film. However, you can't deny the on-screen chemistry between Gal Gadot and Chris Pine -- it was one of the strongest parts of Wonder Woman.

It’s also been reported that the entire production crew will come back for the sequel. Also, despite no official agreement being announced for director Patty Jenkins to helm the film, it has been confirmed that Geoff Johns is developing Wonder Woman 2's script with Jenkins, so we should expect to hear an announcement soon.

Wonder Woman was released in theaters last month, and is the most successful film ever made by a female director to this date, after grossing over $700 million worldwide.

    Yes why not bring Chris Pine back . Maybe a double role or create a twist when he meets his fate . Reveal something like a optical illusion explanation. Or both were twins and they separated at birth . Wonder woman reminds him of his brother something like that

    Maybe he jumped out of the plane at the end and he's older now like Cap America and Peggy Carter when Cap wakes up and she's really old? Maybe it's just in flashback scenes? But again, Batman (The Worlds Greatest Detective) never heard of Wonder Woman before? She fought a ton of Germans in front of a whole bunch of Englishmen and rescued a town and one guy had the smarts to take a picture, but zero stories about her throughout history? Now she will be showing herself in the cold war era and again, we know from Batman V Supes that nobody has heard or seen her before. Major plot gaps.

    The only way I can see them bringing him back is as the original characters son. Or even grandson. Seems to me they did that for the TV show. We don't know if he might have had legitimate or illegitimate children (either possible). Just please don't let him have made Wonder Woman pregnant.

    as u ask the question Does a film set in the 1980s sound right for Wonder Woman 2, I would say no because I think it would be whole lot nicer if they did it in the seventies like the tv show that was done in that era, and bring Lynda Carter in Wonder Woman 2 in a small role like a cousin or a sister from their hidden world, would luv to see them together in the film and maybe it will be good in he 80's will have to see,as long they don't cheap out and half ass the second movie, the Christopher Nolan bat man was a good example of keeping it good from beginning to end something they should follow

    That premise was used in the original TV series going from season to season 2 and yes a son or grandson would be logical. Especially to us fans who liked the original that way.

    Well, since the first movie was a rewritten version of Captain America, I think I will just watch the second Captain America again and save some money instead. It is a pity D.C. is always five steps behind Marvel.

    Should read the whole article on Screen Rant...with the Russia thing happening today this 80's Cold War soviet story sounds relevant so it's okay by me and Steve Trevor has been part of WW so either it's flash backs or his grandson so he's back, love it!
