Fantastic movie! Comedic in the sense of how ridiculous the past was, until the viewer realizes we have not grown so much in the time since the 1970s. An eye opener that should unite viewers.

Tuesday, September 4, 02:47:18 PM

Well, it was kinda funny but long and my opinion fell after reading the reviews. If I recall history Lincoln (Republican) saved the slaves and the Democratic Party supporters were the Confederates in the KKK. It seems some reviewers equate this with Trump...not so.

Monday, September 3, 09:47:31 PM

Jangles the nerves a bit when you watch how close he gets to the KKK. You forget that white women were full participants. Sad how little has changed in race relations.

Monday, September 3, 10:42:18 AM

You can certainly tell by the reviews who the trump supporters are and who the racists/bigots are. This was one of the most powerful movies I have ever seen. Kudos to Spike Lee and the cast. Should be seen by every American...

Monday, September 3, 10:34:28 AM

This was one of the most powerful movie I've ever seen. Don't understand how it can be considered a comedy. Every American needs to see this movie..

Saturday, September 1, 11:20:37 PM

Oscars please. This took me back to the 70's the HAIR! It was one of the most exciting times in America. I won't t tell you the story plot but it is a serious drama and well done.

Saturday, September 1, 06:40:30 PM

Powerful and inspiring, and Spike Lee’s ability to inject humor and pathos simultaneously is masterful. The acting was superb as well. Based on a true story, too. Best film of the year thus far!

Saturday, September 1, 08:34:48 AM

More like a TV movie. Spike has fallen quite a ways from "Do the right thing".

Wednesday, August 29, 04:49:34 PM

Dumb, not funny, slow, Hollywood politics at it best, black racist, just not good. Spike Lee has done great movies in the past. I can’t believe he had anything to do with this movie.

Monday, August 27, 04:27:40 PM

Great plot!! Clever, you want to see where it leads you!!😁

Saturday, August 25, 04:51:34 PM

It was based on a true story. The truth be told . . .

Saturday, August 25, 04:04:46 PM

Dividing instead of uniting

Saturday, August 25, 04:00:35 PM

Highly recommended. Best movie I've seen so far this year.

Friday, August 24, 01:27:55 PM

I only like about 50% of the comedies I see anyway; however I don't find "dumb" to be funny or clever.

Friday, August 24, 06:39:34 AM

A very powerful piece of film making. I cried at the end and I havent cried in a movie in a long time. Racism in the modern world is just so stupid and bad and tragic. Spike Lee really knowns how to make a good film. The only reason I didnt give it 5 starts is I found the story line between Ron and his love interest a little dragged and rushed.

Thursday, August 23, 04:59:12 PM

Good movie! Not for Kids or Trumpites.

Thursday, August 23, 03:49:24 PM

Notorious racist Spike Lee returns to grind the same axe yet again. The core story here is an interesting one, but the narrative is lopsided and strident, just as in Lee's other films. This could have been good if it was made by a different filmmaker.

Wednesday, August 22, 06:33:45 PM

There's two and half hours I'll never get back!

Tuesday, August 21, 07:39:00 PM

Misleading, I think, to describe this as a 'comedy'!

Monday, August 20, 06:54:19 PM

great movie that opened eyes to analogy of current times and past

Sunday, August 19, 11:07:24 PM

I really wanted to like this movie and truly tried to keep an open mind. The movie premise and story was pretty good, there was enough uneven continuity that was apparent but I could look past it. However, although I am a avid movie person seeing hundreds of films, this is one of the handful of movies my wife and I wanted to walk out and away from somewhere between the middle and the end. Getting political for the end was the final nail that made me angry and disgusted.

Sunday, August 19, 09:56:28 PM

great current movie, but calling it a comedy , well that's strange, even though there was light scenes , but a drama, / documentary drama this one will not be playing in the WhitesHouse aalaa the Trump Family movie night great preformance and best Spike Lee

Saturday, August 18, 07:38:27 PM

The movie is great and relevant to our time. HOWEVER, if you think people who March with racists are "some very fine people," you will not like this movie. It is not a comedy but it does expose a comedic aspect of the tragedy of human ignorance, hatred, and spiritual drift. This is a brilliant reflection of who we have been, are and will be until further notice.

Saturday, August 18, 01:14:21 PM

4 star

Thursday, August 16, 03:48:45 PM

The core of the story was accurate portrayal of the time....I lived through it all. I was just so disappointed that it was used as a racist platform to promote hate and distrust. It could have been ground breaking look at how far we've come....instead I walked out feeling hopeless

Tuesday, August 14, 05:12:25 PM

Spike Lee's latest effort is a riveting one and an important one. The 1970s saw a black power pushback that forms a part of the subject matter for this film. In the end, the historical interest is overridden by a reversion in current times to the more racist attitudes of another era. A nervous time lies ahead. A powerful film....guru bob.....93/100

Tuesday, August 14, 10:15:52 AM

Must see- powerful yet sad but with humorous looks at race, individuals and society- parents should watch and discuss with HS age children. Great performances by all. One of the best movies I have ever seen. If you care about the future of the US see this and reflect on our identity and who we are and want to be as a nation.

Monday, August 13, 11:48:56 PM

Spike Lee is America's nemesis. Necessary intervention/tonic at the right time-- a must see.

Monday, August 13, 04:06:48 AM

A very entertaining look at what still has to be one of the strangest police operations in history. Who watches this? I do, I do! And I will again. For some reason it's got a listing as a comedy: No! It has comedic elements, but is not a comedy. And of course it's highly relevant now. Release was one year after the Charlottesville incident; not a coincidence. The Oscar race is on, and if by some slim chance this one got the award, it would not be the worst film ever to do so by any means. Yeah - By Any Means Necessary. Good one, Mr Lee. And Mr Washington the younger. And all the rest of this good company

Saturday, August 11, 10:23:42 PM

One of Spike Lee's finest films. TImely film, deftly weaves drama and humor. Must see.

Saturday, August 11, 04:07:53 PM

I'm open minded for sure being Latin, but this film is so racist and that its uncomfortable. Its funny that is why I give it 1 star, but we do not need to keep insulting each other with race & religion hateful remarks. Its 2018 for goodness sake! We should evolve and respect each others uniqueness by now. If you love and respect others and don't judge your fellow neighbor, then this movie will insult you. It should have been a serious movie not a comedy since this is a very serious topic.

Saturday, August 11, 02:00:37 PM

Good movie Spike.

Saturday, August 11, 12:05:09 PM

If you're an ignorant racist you won't like the movie . I thought it was Great . PS . (I'm white)

Friday, August 10, 06:23:49 AM

I have been a Spike Lee fan since the 80s. This is by far one of the best films directed by Spike Lee. Mr. Lee mixed a bit of comedy to lighten up The seriousness of the film. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This unfortunately was our past and sadly is our current state of America. I appreciate Spike Lee’s creative insight.

Friday, August 10, 02:26:12 AM

The movie offers additional insight into a subject that many people think they already know something about which has been gleaned from glossed over history. It masks truth with reality and depicts American history in the process. It will be a test of fortitude for many to grasp if they look through closed lenses. Rolled up, it is scary, intimidating for all , and filled with humor. I highly recommend as a must see film. Along with my wife, we see two to three movies a week because we still keep date nights. Kudos to Soike Lee and the impressionable Mr. Washington, Sin and heir apparent to his father, Denzel. Great film and one of Spijes best work.

Thursday, August 9, 05:48:54 PM

Meh, not my cup of tea but not a bad film. Suspect reverse racism comedy will probably be the trend for the next decade or so but eventually people will wake up to danger of toying with such things though I have to admit I did laugh pretty hard at times through the film.

Wednesday, August 8, 09:28:39 PM

A must-see! Love that this actually happened.

Wednesday, August 8, 08:06:58 PM

I liked it, did not love it. Would have enjoyed it more if it had more of a serious tone considering the subject matter. Played more like a comedy up until the last montage at the end then it got super serious all of a sudden.

Wednesday, August 8, 11:33:24 AM

Spike Lee's a proven racist. What do you expect? Who watches this garbage?

Wednesday, August 8, 12:40:57 AM

I think it is very racist very disrespectful to my people that fought in the Confederate War for their intelligence to be insulted because my people that carry that flag with people that were not fighting because of slavery they were fighting to keep the Damn Yankees out of our Fields just so we could grow crops to feed our families we never owned a slave we worked our fingers to the Bone picking cotton and I think it is very very wrong in our country is screwed up when they want to act like something that this and I am very very ashamed of whoever made or played in this thing if it was a white man in filtering the Black Panthers to make them look foolish that be all kind of hell you have Oprah Winfrey Al Sharpton Jesse Jackson and probably Obama himself out there with the little signs so our country is messed up and I don't like it in my family don't have to be part of it so if you see me carrying my Confederate flag you better step off
