Brokeback Mountain

Leave it to Hollywood to put gay men on horses on the open range. I`ve been cowboyin` all my life (38 years) and have yet to even hear of, never mind meet, a gay cowboy. Hmm. I guess Hollywood won`t be knocking on my door anytime soon.

I saw this movie and I cried multiple times, some people believe it`s unusual and a disgusting movie, but if you actually pay attention to the story line, and accept it, it`s a truly beautiful love story

Very Intence, a wonderful movie that makes you realise the love in a relationship is a powerful thing that can not be ignored.

OH! IT WAS REALLY A GREAT MOVIE. T`WAS VERY INTERESTING AND I HAD A GREAT TIME WATCHING THE MOVIE. THE ENDING WAS UNEXPECTED UNLIKE SOME OTHER MOVIES THAT YOU CAN PREDICT WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE END. THE CHARACTERS ARE SUPERB. THE MOVIE DESERVES A GRAND SLAM AWARD... ANG LEE DESERVES THE TROPHY AS BEST DIRECTOR...YEW

Interesting storyline, but a little slow and monotonous at times.

Dumb

It was indeed a great movie. They loved each other, but they were not able to consume their love. MAYBE, IF THEY WERE ABLE TO BE TOGETHER 24/7, THAN MAYBE THE WOULD NOT LOVE EACH OTHER AS THEY DID IN THIS MOVIE. Sometimes you wish to have something only because u can not have it.....But all in all, great movie... for all ages and all sexual orientations.

good movie but the acting in Capote truly deserved the oscar

This had to of been one of the most boring movies I have ever seen. I get the whole "shocking" gay love story, but jesus there could of been a little more excitment. I can sum up the movie for you so you don`t waste your money.......have sex with your wife, have sex with your gay lover, have sex with your wife, have sex with your gay lover, divorce your wife, stop having sex with your gay lover......

Boring film! We had to leave the theatre 3/4 through the film owing to a fire alarm . . . and I have no interest in seeing the rest of the film (neither did any of the 6 people I was with). Instead I am using the reimbursment coupon the theatre gave me to see `inside man.` I am surprised how much attention this film got because it really isn`t that interesting (let along good).

What is all the fuss about? The acting was nothing special, the story was slow and drawn out without any real climax. I am happy that neither of the actors won an Oscar because they didn`t do anything spectacular. When the two have their first encounter it was totally weird and unbelievable. You did not see the complexities of their characters unfold... all in all a blah movie.

Exellent movie! and as a straight man I find it absolutely unthreatening. "Brokeback Mountain" is a tragedy because these men have found something that many people, of whatever sexual persuasion, never find - TRUE LOVE. And they can`t do anything about it.

Beautiful love story!

An excellent movie, wonderful scenery, and a touching story! This movie tells the tragic story of gay people and gay love in our society....then AND now. Sadly, things haven`t changed much in some places, and in reading the `negative` comments posted about this movie, ignorance and the "self righteous", "holier than thou" judgements passed by the right-wing fanatic still exists.

The next time the homo lobby decides to produce a propaganda film, I have a suggestion for it: make it a good film. It probably can be done but this wasn`t it. It was a study in boredom.

It was a very well made movie. Acting was good. Heath deserved an oscar nomination. Ang Lee deserved his oscar for best director. Cinematography was excellent. The plot however, was a bit hard to believe. It was more like an adaptation of a romance novel. But all in all it was a very touching love story.

i loved it, and i dont understand how some people dont. i know that everyone has there own oppinion, but come on, open up your mind to new things. i was very disappointed that Brokeback did not win the Oscar, it defiently diserved it. the scenery was great, and both actors were so hot! take my advice and go see it!

Life is too short for this garbage

i think this was a great movie. but at the same time i know ppl who thought it was boring, infact i was one of the few people in the theatre still awake at the end. perhaps it was the fact that i felt very intouch with the movie because i had read the book, which gave a whole new feeling to the movie. reading the book then watching the movie i got a deeper sense of everything around them. i no a person who read the book after then rewatched the movie and enjoyed it much more. i think that the big name actors helped this movie somewhat because it gave it more attention, but either way no matter the cast, it was still a very good movie. it is b

It`s too bad that this movie lost out the Best Picture Oscar to "Crash." Sure, I love that movie too, but the issue of racism has been played out in the past so many times! We rarely get to see something that`s different, daring and thought provoking. "Brokeback Mountain" deserved to win! I will never, ever watch the Oscars ever again. In my opinion, this is THE BEST PICTURE OSCAR WINNER!

I`m so happy Crash won best picture and not this one. I mean, this one just doesn`t cut it. It`s got shocking stuff in it, but since when does that mean it should win best picture? Crash is a masterpiece. This was just a boring film. Scenery was nice, but storyline? Not good.

A Wonderful Romantic movie, Very Intense, Is so true to life, Its a shame things havn`t changed, Jake Gillenhall is dreamy. A must see movie. 10/10

We HATED this movie! Don`t waste your hard earned cash on this one...its totally not worth it.

GREAT MOVIE! I was upset to see that this movie did not win the Best Picture Catagory. HEATH LEDGER and JAKE JYLLENHALL did a SUPERB job of acting that I have not seen in a long while. Both should have also been awarded for BEST ACTOR/SUPPORTING ACTOR. The Academy Awards really disappointed me with their SAFE CHOICE in choosing Crash in Best Picture. Brokeback Mountin is more emotional and it requires that you challenge your beliefs. This movie could change your idea on what Love means.

"I can`t believe that Crash beat this movie", says one guest. I can. They were both crap and it`s hard to tell which was worse. Mountain was exceptional only for being boring.

Great movie, keeps you thinking for days at how sad it is that two people can be so deeply in love and unable to be together. Really makes you think. Definately should see it, but make sure to look past the "gay" thing and look at the love story. What people do in their own privacy is nobody`s buisness so those that have a problem with that should get over it. I`m hetrosexual but am able to understand the underlying meaning here. Loved the show!!

I looved this movie. Anyone who says its about gay guys don`t understand that it is really a wonderful love story and the fact that these guys go both ways really should not be a problem except for people like you.

I think the movie was wonderful. While it did seem awfully long, it was to better explain the relationship between these two men. A must see. As for anyone who thinks the world isn`t ready, if that`s the case they`ll never be ready. Sometimes the world needs a swift kick in the rear in order to take a step forward. So take that step and see this movie. ^.^

This was a wonderful movie. Gay, straight, whomever should be able to overcome their `issues` and see this movie. A great love story !!!

I can`t believe that Crash beat this movie in the Oscars. No comparison. 5 Stars!!!

Here is some insight. If you are a real man you under no circumstance portray a gay person, unless in fun, unless you have hidden gay tendencies.
