In no way comes close to actual factual history. I would label it fantasy.

Total crap!

The movie was packed with the propaganda and poor information one would expect from the film makers. One could hardly get past the stretches of truth and lies regarding the trump-Lincoln "mirror images". Preposterous comes to mind. Southern Republicans of today side with evil groups: white nationalists, KKK and Nazis, to mention but three. That the opposition party embraced evil groups over 50 years ago has little bearing on our times today. The current vile immorality from the conservatives show us first hand how devastating they are for America and how they continue to reject truths.

BORING !

This movie's LITERALLY named after 1915 film ( "Birth Of A Nation" ) that was propaganda for the KKK. While D.W. Griffith made "Birth" exciting enough to sway people who might not have already been on the side of the Klan, THIS movie will sway NOBODY who wasn't already on the Klans side. "Death" is propaganda for the modern conservative/republican. Well, at least those who support trump. If you don't, you'll find this movie lacking in facts and entertainment value. ZERO STARS.

No, didn't like

Inventive but faulty movie. Don't believe the five star rates. Our posse of historians (we went to see it together!) have gone through and verified that approximately 86% of this movie is either outright lies or a n extreme stretching of known historical facts. The crackpot people who made it are pardoned criminals. That in itself should tell you something. Notice also that the far right reviewers (here and elsewhere) just state how great it is, rather than presenting a thorough case of the so-called facts from the film and a reason why you should believe said "facts". We cannot recommend this movie.

People of weak character cannot admit mistakes. Such is the CONTINUING parade of trump, pence, d'souza and what remains of 75% of the republican party. They are weak to the point of being full-throated cowards. It's why I left the republican party. On the other hand, John MCain was a real American, a real hero and a true patriot. We are a poorer country for the loss of McCain. ~~~~~~~ This movie slams and distorts American history and mocks the ideals of great Americans like John McCain. Don't bother with seeing it. There are plenty of other truly great films to go see.

Great movie. Don't believe the critics. I've since gone through and checked sources. Please do, the sources for the information are even more scathing for Leftists than the movie portrays. Critics are paid by big media and Media is owned by the Left. Same as them passing debate questions to Hillary, they're Democrat activists.There isn't an objective reviewer. We all knew that, so take it with a grain of salt. Notice they don't attack the facts. They just pan it, in hopes you won't go. It's mind blowing. Go. and drag all your Leftist friends with you. Facts are facts. People, wake up.

A rating of ZERO stars should be available for this movie mess but since it's not and I had to give a 'rating', it's a 1.

Just an awful distortion of our nations history

The ultimate in theater garbage.

One star. Really poor movie. I'm a recent history major and this movie makes a mockery out of REAL facts about our past. Anyway, it's also dull and some segments are just silly. Don't listen to all the highly rated reviews because they, just like the film, are way off base. You may be a Trump Apprentice fan and that's fine, but don't buy into all this fictitious slanting of how the civil war years supposedly correlate directly to our present political situation. It just isn't so. If you go watch it, don't say you weren't warned. And, you really should have headache medicine on hand for all the nonsense your brain will need to endure. Unless, of course, you just walk out of the theater.

Good film. Objective and from view of an immigrant, who sees it like it is, not just black and white. The REAL American Dream contrasts with the Fascist Liberal Propaganda. D'Souza shows us Liberals are unfortunately the REAL thugs and thieves of America and the American people, not even the uneducated incarcerated(modern day camps for citizens) who are actually their victims from the beginning deception and the ghettos created and sustained by them and their party. I don't know who has a conscience can EVER vote for a certain party knowing they were formed from wickedness/KKK/thuggery/deception. Wash your hands of them before another holocaust happens under their far left fascism/dictatorship. Save America, watch the film, pass it on. I started NEITHER liberal or conservative but I will never vote for a democrat again in my life knowing their true intentions for this country.

Five stars!!! Really good movie. Im a history major and this movie is on point. It tells alittle about the past and what's going on now. Great movie, dont listen to all the bullsh*t everyone is writing about it. Go watch it and you decide if it's good or bad! They need to make more movies like this.

It's pretty safe to assume that anyone who actively defends Trump is trash. Because only a POS or morally bankrupt person would support Trump's words and actions. The "movie", and I probably shouldn't denigrate or insult REAL films by calling this one a movie, but in any case, "Death of a Nation" is a mountain of lies and falsehoods with a couple of truths sprinkled on top to draw you in.

Donald Trump pardoned con commentator & maker of this movie Dinesh D’Souza, who pled guilty in 2014 to making YUGE illegal campaign contributions. No one should then be surprised at the creation of this movie. Like the Earth, it wasn't created 6,000 years ago. It was made up by Mr. D'Souza to pay his pardoner back. Yes, there is a kernel of truth to this movie but that's it. The rest of the cob is rotten to the core.

Why are there so many ducks in this movie...?

First off I'm not a Democrat nor Republican. The movie "Death Of A Nation" is definitely a pro-right propaganda disaster aimed at providing a basis for talking points and for rescuing the current president. Problem is so little of it is actual truth. Yes, Democrats were for slavery during Civil War times but that began slowly changing after the year 1905. By the time the 1960's arrived there was a complete reversal of which parts of the country were supporting which political parties. Most reviews that are saying how great this movie is are also saying that there is factual evidence in this film. I did research and found that about 85% of the material in the movie has no factual support. Yes, the DNC is corrupt ~ but the RNC is now four or five times more corrupt. Perhaps the two parties can totally repair themselves, but if not, then hang on. It's gonna be a long and bumpy ride.

Poor docudrama with nearly ZERO facts, half-truths galore and skipping over the the truth that the Republicant Party has been placating you, deceiving you with their lies, brainwashing you with their right wing version of religion and worse. Cannot recommend this fairytale about American History.

Stuck around for half the movie but I'm a Republican who doesn't care for the twisting and distorting of history so I left. Don't bother with this one.

This seemed like a fabrication of history. Plus it was slow moving and mostly boring.

Once again here trots Dinesh D'Souza with yet another documentary. Loads of revisionism for his faithful and theories so full of conspiracy they are difficult for weaker minds to ignore. It's a loud and often mean choir he tends to preach at; a choir so thundering that it sometimes feels as though the ear drums may burst. D’Souza’s latest attempt to instill alternate history lessons in us are pretty much the same woeful methods he trotted out in previous movies. In fact, “Death of a Nation” is little more than a collection of well-known neocon conspiracy stories, in an attempt to paint Democrats as evil, Democrats as Nazis, Democrats as.... well, you get the idea. See this at the theater IF YOU MUST, but consider taking painkillers prior to your "Death" ticket purchase. It's murder.

If you’re considering writing about American history, it's always a great idea to learn the historical facts first in order to establish a truthful foundation. Cherrypicking only those portions you deem honest and trafficking in obvious propaganda will only serve to deepen political divides instead of deepening our understanding of the American past.

With this movie "Death of a Nation", Dinesh D'Souza believes he is exposing hidden history and truths. He believes he has created a great movie. He believes everyone should go to see it because even his chosen god is proud. All in all Mr. D'Souza believes far, far, FAR too much and knows so very little.

Didn't find this believable. Also, it was a yawner in spots. Dam near fell asleep. I like documentaries but not this one.

Thieving liar Trump, his half witted family and all his hangers on couldn’t put humpty dumpty together again and neither could this movie..

Informative history that many people don't know or don't want to face.

Clearly Dinesh D'Souza had a Bunyan sized axe to grind after having been convicted of a felony (though recently pardoned by Donald Trump). His latest effort is the bizarre “Death of a Nation,” where D’Souza compares Trump to Abraham Lincoln. The live action sequences during the film are downright laughable. Lines like, “Lincoln saved America the first time. And now, by tragic circumstances, Trump is in a similar situation.” ~AND~ “The progressive Democrats are the real racists. They are the true fascists. They want to steal our income. They want to steal our earnings and our wealth and our freedom and our lives.”, are ALSO laughable. All in all, there are simply too many laughs and too little valid historical information in "Death". My rating is 1 star.

I give this movie two stars but really it's more like 1.5 stars. I did laugh at times and one or two things rang true but not much beyond that.

The critics who claim there are revealed truths and historical accuracy throughout this film need to list every instance within this film where they saw such things. As a history buff and former (now retired) teacher I can tell you : there are only a few. The bulk of the movie is, in fact, just the opposite. I strongly suspect those on the political right are the ones making those type of 'full of historical accuracy' claims without providing LEGITIMATE sources of evidence.
