Downton Abbey

Cinematography was fantastic. It was like I was there & a part of this wonderful family. Continuing to follow this family in their endeavors was a real treat.

Superb...but to you are looking for action, adventure, sex, murder, F... words et al do not go. Excellent acting around a story more then a plot with small stories inside it. You will learn that it is good to be the King. Oh yeah, wonderful costumes and setting and a story that chips away at the surface of the wealthy and their petty lives.

All the advertisements before were awful. The movie itself, was awesome. Both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it and we will be waiting for the next.

Absolutely wonderful! The main characters are back and great in every way as are the new character additions. So far, i’ve seen it four times. I can’t get enough of the thing—the actors, the characters they play. I may be over the top about it, but as far as i’m concerned, I don’t care! A sequel would be very welcome, there are major changes yet to take place upstairs and downstairs!

True to the series - great movie and nice to see all of the characters back again. Cannot wait for a sequel. Nice to see a movie without violence, or profanity for a change.

The tv series was MUCH better

beautiful! for 2 hours they stayed true to the characters..a truly ensemble movie in which they got character involved. plot had to be simple it was only a 2 hour movie. I think you had to be a fan of the series to truly enjoy and appreciate this wonderful show.

There was so much going on that I would call this a super-charged episode of the show. It was an episode, but an extra amazing one!

my husband and I absolutely loved the series - the movie was beautiful to look at and we love the cast - but were very disappointed because was a very weak/ almost nonexistent plotline.. I totally hate to say that.my husband was bored especially for the first half hour.. even though we are very devoted fans. - We were expecting much more from Julian Fellows in this movie. But we do know people who just loved it - (we can;t figure that out!)

Blimey, a real gem. Superb acting, costumes, era placement...just great. Kinda opens a window of what the upper snobby elite upper class were possibly like, and then the servants maids et al and their interaction with the Kings servants pecking order and the Brits love of their King. The King back then was Jesus coming to earth. Lots of verbal snipes between all and no F...words. Amazing, it can be done. Slow but great mini stories.

I think it was a super movie I enjoyed everything about it It was entertaining and for a change no F... bombs. Well played everyone and lots of good humour

Just terrific - superb acting! - fabulous writing ! Better than expected - tv series though to equal or beat - they did it!

Of course it is for fans, and as a fan I loved it. The pageantry of the period looked awesome on the big screen. Lady Grantham's zingers delivered as well. Well done :)

If your a fan of Downton Abbey TV show your going to love it! It felt great seeing all the cast again! Finally a movie that makes you feel good after seeing it.. No Violence or Superheroes! Bravo!!

Unless one is British and holds allegiance to an outdated monarchy, I can see no appeal to this movie whatsoever. As per the new social propaganda displayed in recent movies, it also includes the obligatory homosexual scenes as well.

Loved seeing the characters again and to see their lives continued in this story line. The struggles continue to keep afloat is still alive....more to come

A nice little movie but it is really for fans of the tv show. It has a lightweight story. However there are no explosions, superheroes or spaceships which is a big plus.

Excellent movie!! After watching the entire PBS Masterpiece Theater series I can honestly say it carried forward the same well thought out script.

I enjoyed the tv series thoroughly and was simply hooked, and the movie follows suit. It was good to visit Dowtown Abbey once again. I highly recommend for all the fans.

Just fun....like visiting the family again. Very enjoyable, carries on right where the series left off.

Maybe i'm not being fair to rate this movie because I have not seen the television series. I found the beginning half was very boring and didn't really know the characters so was lost as to what was going on. I did however start to enjoy the 2nd half of movie. Just saying I'm sure it was a great movie to all the people that have seen the series but I suggest if you haven't seen it than I would advise you not to go. Acting and costumes were good.

Movie was great! Really enjoyed seeing all the actors and actresses again. I would see it again!

Absolutely loved the movie - I went with my wife and daughter who are both avid fans and we all felt the movie was outstanding. Excellent story and so nice to be back at Downton Abbey again! Well worth seeing at the cinema - if you are a fan you WILL like it.

The producers are to be commended for their attention to detail. The characters and music are WONDERFUL from start to finish. I am a fan of the tv series. The movie did not disappoint! An uplifting film.

Loved the series. Disappointed in movie. Silly plot. Did manage to give most characters a spotlight, but effort to do so showed. Costumes were great. And Maggie had good lines, of course.
