Gladiator II

Im shocked that Ridley Scott made this film. The script was as if a child wrote it. The first Gladiator was one of my all time favorites. This was so unbelievably corny. It made me legitimately concerned for the future of the film industry.

A sequel we didn't need.

Nice Touch using monkeys and a rhino in the gladiator fights. Did they really do that? Google says, "Hunters, not gladiators, would be put in the arena to hunt down animals like monkeys and rhinos." So they stretched the imagination. Very creative.

Good show for a second chapter to an excellent show. It's a follow up story. The lead actor was not bad but I miss Russell Crow. The first movie had a great soundtrack which I own. This one used parts of it which was fitting but I didn't hear anything new. Denzel is a great bad guy. Too bad they killed off all the women.

On par w original Gladiator. Denzel was great evil man. Fun to watch. My husband and I really enjoyed it. Actors belonged n their rolls. We will see it again.

Worst movie of the year. Extremely boring.

Just as good as the first one. I'm going back to see it for the 2nd time htis weekend - that's how good it is.

Desperately unoriginal, horrible script and acting. Retire Denzel, you look bad. National Lampoons Gladiator !! and sharks ?? wtf

The previews looked good - I was skeptical because first one was gonna be hard to beat - but this one was just as good if not better and I'm going to go see it again.

By no means is it better than the first one but that's usually how it goes. However the fight scenes were done well. It's more predictable but then comes with a twist which was cool. It's a solid good movie 7.7/10 for me. Misses some of that emotional element but Denzel is masterclass in this as well!!

Unnecessary movie. It's basically Gladiator all over again. Main guy seems too soft. Story makes little sense. The emperors are ridiculous. Sucked.

It didn't need to be this long. Hated the ending. Some of the scenes were beyond the realm of possibility like fighting atop a rhinoceros or flooding the colesseum with sharks in the water! I'm really surprised they got Denzel Washington to be in this. I should have saved the money and waited for Netflix. We got there early to get good seats. Only 8 people in theater!

Wicked beat out this dumb movie. So funny.

I could only hope it wasn't a let down after seeing the Great First one. I was not disappointed. This one met all my expectations and then some. Was just as good as the FIRST ONE.

Boring movie.

I'd give it more than 5 stars if possible. Denzel is the greatest actor and the plot to this movie was remarkable. I didn't think it could match first one but I was wrong - Just as good IF NOT BETTER. Loved, Loved this movie. will go see it again for the pure joy of it.

Enjoyable, but the last 45 minutes or so was a bit disappointing. Really felt like you were back in roman times (cuz i know what that's like). Liked the lead actors, but thought the lead actress was a bit weak

The movie from start to end was very entertaining and tied in well to the first Gladiator movie. I'm not sure where all these negative movie reviews are coming from. I thought Denzel Washington played a superb villian and Pedro Pascal did a great job of acting as well. Thought the shark scene was far fetched as how could you get that water into the Collesium

To those sayi g the first review is fake, it is not! I wrote it, and yes, I give Gladiator II 5 stars. I saw the movie in Brazil. It opened internationally 2 weeks before it opened in Canada and the US. What's wrong with people nowadays? If someone writes a glowing review because they absolutely loved a movie, people think it's fake. If someone writes a 2-word, 1 star review, people think it's real. Maybe there should be a mandatory IQ test required before a review is accepted? The 1 star reviews do seem to be fake, and writen out of spite. The haters need to grow up!

Don't pay attention to the bad reviews.... This was an awesome movie.

Loved it! Loved Denzel and Connie' acting.

A very UNworthy sequel to one of the greatest movies ever. This movie is constantly trying to recapture the magic of the first Gladiator and always failing. The actor playing the lead is not in Russell Crowe's league. There is far too much gratuitous bloodletting and gore. There is more battle action and crazier arena fights than in Glad I, but it seems to be more just an attempt to make up for a somewhat chaotic and contrived storyline. It simply lacks the visceral power and beautiful simplicity of the original.

Great plot and very well acted. So disappointed to see all the fake reviews. I almost let them sway me but glad I went with the few that were evidently based on fact. I saw the original and this was a well done sequel that stood on its own.

This was one of the best movies i’ve seen all year, as a huge gladiator 1 fan this did not fall short of the original!! i definitely recommend!!

Far short of the original

Entertaining, never boring. Great movie full of action and good story line

I was surprised how masterful they did this as I was sure it would be a huge disappointment after the first one. BOY- was I wrong. In it's own merit was far better than the first one and wonderful acting.

Not worth your time. Very disappointing.

This sequel didn't have the emotion of Gladiator I. 1st half hour was fairly boring, then it picked up with some good action acenes. The studio should ring the cash register with all the hype of the trailer &, as a few suspect, phony reviews. The follow up plot moved quickly towards the end. When it shows up on regular TV, I probably won't bother watching it, whereas I repeated viewing Glad I over 10 times. Some excitement, cast of thousands, not a classic overall.

Great action flick that is worth seeing on the big screen.

Its a sequel, not usually a fan. This one does have fantastic casting. Stays in sequence from the original. It doesn't have really any filler scenes and considering its length that's surprising. Denzel of course always great.

Please believe all reviews after the fake, fake industry hack. I groaned during the opening credits. Gone are the large, vista, wide angled shots, only to be replaced, with penny pinching, TV, tight three colour drab. Oh, and poor Denzel, working that toga, like a heavy hotel bath robe, clutching it , pulling the sleeves up, like the first time he put it on, like a oscar winner, walking those stairs in dress that was wearing them. I can go on, wait for Christmas Netflix, we all have rent to pay.

The first comment, five stars, is written six days before opening. Nuff said. Studio buy.
