His Only Son

This movie effortlessly drew me into the story of a mother and father's story of love for their son and the father's devotion to his Lord God, even to the point of giving Him his only son. It gave me a better understanding of how our Father in heaven must have felt when He gave His only Son.

Subtleties that if you know the scriptures give it depth

The depiction of Abraham's pain of having to sacrifice his son represents only a fraction of God's pain in sacrificing His only son. We'll done. Bring tissues. I want to see it again.

A totally different understanding/feeling of a well known story, that had so much more depth and emotion and WoW power watching it vs. reading it. Heart-wrenching at a whole new level for Abram's and Sarai's collective and individual struggles. Isaac was amazing in his faith in his own right. Had me in tears. Unfathomable choice to follow the Lord, regardless.

Great Story Very Well Written. To have the faith of Abraham and ties in how God gave "His Only Son" makes you praise the name of Jesus. God Bless You All

A terrific movie. Very moving. Very well acted. Congratulations to David Helling. His name was all over this production. I look forward to his next project. Jacob? Even though I knew the story of Abraham, to see it acted out on the big screen was incredibly powerful. I'm glad that I didn't miss this gem of a film.

Excellent movie with stellar perfomances!

It brings one of the most important happenings in the Bible life. It was so wonderfully done. I have seen it twice and will be going back with friends again and again as long as it is playing!!

I thought it was so good. The ending got me emotional. Very well done.

Loved this powerful portrayal of Abraham & his unwavering Faith through the decades w/God. A true testament & example of how we ALL need to be. Especially as these End Days draw to a close. ?? The great parallel between Abraham & Isaac & God & Jesus was so heart piercing, seeing it on screen like I hadn’t before. Really well done & acted. Looking forward to more movies that put Hellywood to shame. Thank you for forging on & delivering a strong & powerful movie, that left people in tears in the theater. And me, taking a long walk on the beach, contemplating my own relationship & weak faith in too many areas, comparatively. A needed wake up call.👍 And perfect timing w/the release.

A beautiful rendition of how Abraham and Isaac‘s story foretells Christ’s (the only son of God) ultimate sacrifice at the cross.

The best movie in a long time

I went in wondering whether this would have too much artistic license that it would become unscriptural. I was very pleased with the creator's perspective and delighted to see this story's tie to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. The actors, scenery, and directing were very good. Not a "B" movie at all.

True storyline adding depth of characters, beautiful music and acting

Very thoughtful movie about the struggles of Sarah, Abraham’s unwavering faith in God, and the relationship between God and Abraham. This is not an “action” movie, but sticks with the scriptural story of Abraham.

Unbelievable

Scripture says that God “did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all” (Romans 8:32). God spared Abraham’s son, but did not spare His own. What amazing, what unfathomable love, that the eternal, sovereign, holy God should sacrifice His Son for sinners such as you and me! May we never again think of the story of Abraham and Isaac without finding within it a picture of God’s great love for us. Book: Joy of Fearing God- Page 100 by Jerry Bridges. This movie is not just for entertainment purposes to say it was too slow and critique like other movies but this movie brought Truth to the movies and to this lost world. Don’t say it’s Too Slow but instead open your bibles more and then you will come truly appreciate this movie and what God does for love of You & Me!!

Movie well portrayed the struggles Abraham, a"righteous man" of God had in obedience and testing of his faith. Believing whole heartedly His promises while waiting on God's perfect timing is still true for today's circumstances & relationships. Abraham's life (via movie) is a great example of God's faithfulness despite failures and his repentant heart.

Fabulous actors show the struggle and lifetime of context that come into play here.!

FANTASTIC!!

Very, very, slow. The whole movie was walking. Didn’t develop the characters very well. It was too somber. Added a scene that took away from the movie. Very weak connection drawn to Christ. Very disappointing. We need more Christian movies , but they need to be well done.

Great show, talks the facts, great sound effects. Worth every penny. Only down fall, needs another to complete the story. Great actors. Must see

Wasn't true to scripture

Though this movie is a bit slow at times, I now see Abraham & Sarah's story in a whole new light. It was very insightful and had my family talking about it the whole way home. Great movie to see before Easter and definitely recommend seeing.

Trite and superficial. I long for a someone to tell this story in an interesting and modern way. This isn't it.
