For those who appreciate classic literature this is an excellent film to see. The scenery and sets, costumes and cast are delightful. Keira Knightly was a wonderful Elizabeth and Donald Sutherland was a great choice for Mr Bennet. Those who do not like classic literature and require violence, nudity and inappropriate language to entertain them should stay away. Pride and Prejudice is real a treat for a change!

I was a fan of the book. Now i am a fan of the movie. The characters were portrayed very well each with their own little quirks from the book. The cinematography was wonderful with very breathtaking scenary. The music, the fashion, the enchanting dialogue. If you are a fan of period pieces, do watch this.

It was the best romance I have ever seen played in a movie! It was even better than the book, and I`m a huge fan of Jane Austen`s work

Friday, January 13, 05:55:16 PM

I was very disappointed by this adaptation. I love the book, I love the BBC mini series, I did not like this movie.

Friday, January 13, 09:54:57 AM

Ive seen it seven times and each time it is as exciting and wonderfully romantic as the first. I just loved it

Thursday, January 5, 04:51:51 PM

After reading the original play and having watched the BBC mini-series, I had a lot of experience with Elizabeth Bennet and Mark Darcy...I was convinced that Colin Firth was the only person who could EVER do the character of Mark Darcy any justice...UNTIL I saw the new version and then I thought "Colin who?". :o) Very well done...I recommend this film.

Matthew Macfeyden and Kira Knightly, Donald Sutherland and Brenda Blethan`s acting made the movie absolutely marvelous, just spectacular! Pride & Prejudice is the ongoing defenition of love, hate and family bonds. This movie was touching, heartfilled, and brought tears to many individuals within the audience, including me. I give this move a five star rating, I absolutely adored it!!!

Monday, January 2, 03:57:20 AM

this movie was very well done...extremely well done it showed the way hate can be so strong that it causes love, and every momeent watched was a different adventure...story...anything it could possibly be.

Saturday, December 24, 10:02:02 PM

Great movie! The cinematography was incredible for such a movie. Amazing!

Friday, December 23, 06:40:18 PM

oh just a wonderful movie I`m goin to see it for the third time in 2 weeks. Beautifully done and each character is charming in their own kind of way.Don`t miss it.

Tuesday, December 20, 01:31:36 AM

Very good movie. I have watched 4 times. I love both this movie and the BBC one. Mathew MacFadyan is as attractive as Colin Firth. I love them both. It makes one feels that there may really be such kind of man existing in the real world. Love to have the DVD (the English version). Carolyn C

Keira Knightley might be attractive, but she can`t act! Unfortunately, it`s another disappointed re-make of an Austen novel. The film shows too much and denies character/audience speculation that would make the film more provocative.

Tuesday, December 13, 06:43:40 PM

Keira Knightley is HAWT

iiiiiiiiiiiiiii LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDD IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. THAT ALL I COULD SAY

Sunday, December 11, 04:26:29 PM

well The BBC one was better but this one was close i mean hey im 11 years of age so what do i know?but i like the first one better but as i said this one is a good re-make,but you may not like it i mean whatever floats your boat right?

Sunday, December 11, 07:50:42 AM

Absolutely wonderful! This film could make you fall in love.

Saturday, December 10, 03:51:46 PM

Amazing. I saw this movie for the first time last night, and i am seeing it again tonight. I dont think I`ll ever get tired of it!! Looking forward to when it comes out on DVD, im sure to get it! :)

Saturday, December 10, 07:49:18 AM

I was also skeptical but the movie is true to the book. The BBC mini-series was 10 years ago, and let`s face it, Colin Firth (45) is getting a bit long in the tooth. Matthew Macfadyen (30) had me drooling BUCKETS for Mr. Darcy... He portrays him a little more aimiably and feelingly than Firth did. Elizabeth and Darcy needed to kiss in the field (when they finally came together), though, and not at the dead end of the movie. A miniscule flaw, IMHO... I really want to see this again!!!

Friday, December 9, 08:23:06 PM

The Cliffnote version on a classic book.

Friday, December 9, 08:22:30 PM

With the BBC`s 1995 miniseries starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle still regarded as the definitive treatment of the book, it will be an uphill struggle to win audiences to what is neither a faithful rendition nor a very interesting new interpretation."

Friday, December 9, 03:54:49 PM

Can`t believe how good Matthew Macfadyen was as Darcy. It was easier to understand how Lizzie starts to fall in love with him in this one than in the BBC one. I loved that version, and loved Colin Firth as Darcy and didn`t think anyone could play the part as well, but MM did. He was different, but just as good, he brought more emotion to the part, I actually understood how Lizzie could fall for him, he was totally ripping my heart apart with his sad eyes.

Friday, December 9, 03:46:50 PM

HORRIBLE!!!! The acting was awful (except Keira KNightly and Judy Dench) but the actor playing Darcy cannot act....

Friday, December 9, 01:57:45 PM

Absolutely beautiful

Friday, December 9, 11:53:54 AM

The A&E (BBC) mini-series is and shall remain the last word on this book!

Wednesday, December 7, 02:31:38 PM

The original BBC version was way better.

Wednesday, December 7, 01:13:03 PM

I loved this version! There was more emotion between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth compared to the BBC version. The actor who played this Mr. Darcy made his character a lot warmer than Colin Firth`s Mr. Darcy. I love this story anyways. Can`t wait for this movie version to come out on DVD!

Monday, December 5, 07:14:42 PM

I thought the acting superb. The film drew you in at the start and wouldn`t let you go until the end. I was left wanting more, more, more. Matthew Macfadyen was an excellent Mr. Darcy. You could feel his emotional attachment to Lizzy grow as the film progressed. Kiera Knightly was a delightful Lizzy.

Monday, December 5, 07:51:09 AM

Beautifully made. I have read the book many times and I will never tire of seeing the different versions of it. Both Keira and Matthew are wonderful. A must see!!

Sunday, December 4, 02:12:49 PM

It was amazing. At the end when he says Mrs.Darcy and kisses her and repeats, its was so beatiful!

Sunday, December 4, 12:41:49 AM

Absolutely wonderful movie!

Sunday, December 4, 12:39:55 AM

It was wonderful!!! One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I give it 5 stars!!

Saturday, December 3, 10:32:23 PM

A perfect little romance, save Donald Sutherland`s forced boo-hoo.

Saturday, December 3, 10:13:10 PM

Come Oscar time this film will be seeing nominations for adapted screenplay, cinematography and supporting actress for Brenda Blethyn......perhaps more?

Saturday, December 3, 12:28:58 PM

This is and always will be a favourite movie of mine as well as novel. I was highly impressed with how the actors stayed true to the characters in the book and I felt so much for each of them. Overall, a five star Oscar worthy film!!
