Palpatin again trying to take over the universe. Han Solo scene was unique. The final battle was amazing.

No idea who said about a Ja Jar in the movie? Lol Nope. Please watch the movie first rather to give fake reviews. Ben was this time fantastic.

Saturday, December 21, 02:46:21 PM

Great finally. I loved the ending too.

FANTASTIC. Star Wars is back! The mystique that WAS Star Wars (when Lucas was at the helm) is (finally) back. Interested in the movie but hindered by somewhat anemic ratings (of some)? Don't be hindered. Turn off the rubbish criticisms generated by entertainment spoiled brat Americans who have indulged themselves into numbness and cannot therefore recognize a good (in this case 'great') movie when it hits them right in the face. The Star Wars magic that captivated generations was most certainly NOT back for the last couple of movies (though they were certainly NOT 'horrible' - as some have asserted). Rogue One, by the way, was a very good movie, though it didn't have the Star Wars mystique. Wondering about what I mean by 'Star Wars Mystique'? If you were around for the original movies 'durning the day' you know exactly what I'm talking about. What a feeling! lifted me right out of the hum drum of life and took me on a vicarious adventure that was simply thrilling! Here's my review Story - 10 - great intrigue, surprising twists and 'answers' to some questions that left me wondering after the last few movies. Cinametography - 10 if I could give it an 11, I would. Stunning. Amazing (even by todays standards) Acting (in general) - 10 Because it was so wonderful I loathe to criticize AT ALL. But if I had to, I would say that the 'Rose' character could, and perhaps should have been deleted. Weak and largely non contributory. Making "Fin" SPOILER? pretty ridiculous. Granted, its just fiction but still .... Yet, in spite of those two very minor weaknesses, I believe that the movie was just awesome. 'Surprise characters'? Well, I won't spoil it for you (if you haven't seen it) BUT I will say I was totally delighted by their presence. Friends, this was not a 'good' movie, it was a GREAT one. Do yourself a favor, forget entirely what the nay sayers are saying. Go, let yo

Kathleen Kennedy and Jar Jar Abrams turned something great into total garbage

Saturday, December 21, 09:22:52 AM

All i can say is I wish George could of done this movie. Yes the effects today are better but the story isn't. Fairwell to the skywalkers

I knew I would regret spending money on this. I hate this movie almost as much as I hate myself for wasting money on it.

Grew up on the prequels and love them unironically. All of the sequels suffer from this issue a little, but TRoS is way more serious than it needs to be. Straying from the traditional over the top space opera format of the originals, and the glitzy sci-fi fantasy political drama the prequels unashamedly evolved into, TRoS finds itself in 'Real Serious Gritty Sci-fi Movie TM' butt into the 9th installment of a franchise that is now constantly second guessing itself and isn't a natural evolution, but is instead a hyper sterilized multi artist mutation of Star Wars. In spite of this, I had an absolute blast. I'm not going to say this movie has no contrivances, but it strikes a balance between constantly being blasted with set pieces or story beats, and long, droning Senate meetings. It's fast but not completely incoherent, quiet but not boring, thrilling but not horrifying, and an absolutely spectacular spectacle of lightsabers, a galaxy far, far away, and drama (albeit sterilized, yes). Admittedly, I went in wanting to have fun. I wanted to like this movie and have a good time. TRoS didn't disappoint me.

Movie dragged (one in our group actually snoozed off twice) and very predictable way they tied up all the loose ends of the whole damn series. This one can be watched on a tv at home.

Friday, December 20, 11:34:06 PM

Just an amazing film.

Friday, December 20, 10:51:49 PM

Loved Rey, the storyline, visual effects and the fact that all the questions from the first movies are answered.

Friday, December 20, 07:43:40 PM

A million times better than the previous two, on edge of your seat the entire time completely invested! I LOVED this movie! I wanted to turn around an re-watch right away I couldn't even put into words everything, I felt was just on an adrenaline rush.

Friday, December 20, 07:29:34 PM

Having watched all 9 films on the first day of release, I have a different perspective on the films than those born after 1977. "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" was enjoyable, but some parts were too over the top thanks to the ego of Jar Jar Abrams who is still under the impression that a thin plot can be hidden under SFX.

Friday, December 20, 07:20:20 PM

Just Awesome!

Friday, December 20, 06:28:03 PM

Amazing movie THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!!! It explains who Rey is and why she has so much power despite her parents being nobody. It explains how Leia saved herself in Episode XIII. It (somewhat) explains why Rey and Kylo Ren are connected in the force. THIS IS A MUST SEE FOR ALL STAR WARS FANS!

Friday, December 20, 05:35:36 PM

Better than expected. I would like to thank the people with negative reviews because I went in with low expectations. Wonderfull end to the Star Wars sage, one of the best Star Wars movies.

Friday, December 20, 11:27:25 AM

Considering the trainwreck Johnson left Abrams after episode 8...Abrams did the best he could. There should have been WAY MORE Palpatine than the 6 minutes we get! Luke Skywalker should NOT be dead still pisses me off from last movie. Loved the Leia scenes and wished there could have been more but obviously that couldn't have happened. LOVED the one scene with Han Solo! Why J.J. did you have to incorporate a lesbian kiss at the end during celebration? It's because of nonsense like this the original 3 will never be surpassed. When you go to that galaxy far far away you leave reality you escape current life which is what a movie is suppose to be all about. We as the audience don't need to be hammered down with these social justice aspects of current society the movie then becomes less of an escape!!!

Friday, December 20, 10:28:57 AM

Let me say first and foremost the original characters in the first 3 stars wars were united like they were actual family and it showed in all 3 movies. Even though the special effects weren't as go then as they are now the story lines made up for it. This movie was ok and I enjoyed it. They tried to put a whole lot of storyline packed in a 2 and a half hour movie and if you never saw a star wars you would definitely been confused. It was worth the money to see the ending.

Friday, December 20, 08:19:09 AM

What got me about this film is that the whole team of actors were not playing on the same Star Wars cultural plane making it disjointed and incongruent. The dialogue bounced around from Star Wars period speak to modern day culture and attitude. It didn’t fit the movie. The great CGI effects were over shadowed by poor character betrayal. Wait for this movie to go into the cheap theaters or on NetFlix.

Friday, December 20, 06:18:26 AM

This was pure garbage.. Don't know how they say it's for the fans. Nothing made logical sense or was believable. They just did it expecting you to say.. Oh ok let's go with that.

Friday, December 20, 01:01:34 AM

J.J Abrams and Chris Terrio pulled it off! Don’t listen to the critics - this film is fantastic. Abrams managed to fuse the classical spirit of the original trilogy with modern sensibilities. The story has humour, inspiring adventure, genuine emotional moments, and heart. I was dazzled and left the cinema feeling like I was a 10 year-old kid again, seeing Star Wars for the very first time! Abrams is a superb filmmaker!

Friday, December 20, 12:04:41 AM

What a mish mash of everything Star Wars. It started losing it’s cohesion and plot about mid way thru. It was like when you go to grocery store and put everything into your shopping bag just to get out of the store, knowing you were going to sort things out at home. But when you got home you forgot something. A real let down. A sorry ending for Star Wars. Kathleen Kennedy should be black balled from the industry.

Thursday, December 19, 06:32:38 PM

Star Wars has become political. If you don’t like it you don’t belong here. Yikes what poor critics or people who just not accepting of other people’s opinions and tastes. See You Next Tuesday for cheap Tuesday.

Tuesday, December 17, 06:46:28 AM

Star Wars fans love all Star Wars universe movies and stories. Critics and nit-pickers are not fans, but rather just trolls looking for something to dislike. This is the greatest Star Wars movie ever made! (Since the previous movie that is) If you don’t give this five stars then why even dates your time...you don’t belong here...

Tuesday, December 17, 04:12:52 AM
