House on Haunted Hill (1959)

Not bad. It probably scared the kiddies back in the day. But filmmaker Castle pulls a bait-and-switch. There aren't any ghosts in this film. It turns out to be a thriller about an unhappily married couple trying to murder each other. I preferred the 1999 remake which gave viewers the marriage murder melodrama as a subplot but also delivered on the supernatural aspect.
