The Great Beauty

What was that? I guess this was supposed to be a movie for the "cultured". YIKES. I didn't like it at all. 2.5 hours of my life I'll never get back.

I really loved this film. It is not only beautifully shot, but from my perspective a sincere view into the questions that plague some of us when we get to later middle age -- missed opportunities, pursuit of pleasure in a world focused on the young, disappointment, etc. I thought it was a delight for the senses and soul.

Once again disappointed. I have always wanted to go to Italy. I was in hopes of a great story line and awesome pics of Italy's landscape and culture. I got to see instead women's beasts, drugs, meaningless sex, older men chasing very young tail This movie is choppy. It does not flow IT left me feeling like if I want to see morals in a tube w no great depth - I can go to any large city in USA for this corruption of mankind. WHY go to ITALY? Of course materialistic artsy fartsy Holllywood will give many accolade. However, lowly me a single mom w two kids and a Bachelor degree just really thought my ten bucks and the three hours was such a waste of my time.

Huh? Beautifully filmed but wasn't quite sure what we had watched after 2 hours and 15 minutes.
