Excellent movie, Matthew McConaughey was very good in his role (defense lawyer).

A grand return to the courtroom for Matthew. Really enjoyed it. A great rendition of the book as well.

There were some obvious plot holes and general cheesy movie stuff but overall this was a good law procedural thriller.

Extremely well put together movie. I'm not a big fan of Matthew McConaughey but he definitely nailed the performance. Ryan Phillipe was excellent also. A gripping and intelligent thriller. Good soundtrack too. It's definitely worth shelling out the laundry money to see it in the theater.

Great movie kept my attention the whole time. Matthew and Ryan weren't all that hard to look at either!

This was a great way to spend my Friday night! Great movie!

Mickey Haller kicks ass!

I don't understand all the hate for McConaughey? He's great in this,in fact the entire cast is great. Don't judge based on the history of rom-com, this is a film to see!

While by no means will this movie win any awards,it is a great way to spend an evening.

This was exhilerating, exciting, interesting and how can you go wrong with Matthew McConaughey. Not since his last legal thriller did he act so wonderfully. William H Macy is superb as always.

I usually hate it when my girlfriend picks the movie. For once she did a good job. Solid.

Finally good acting by no shirt... I mean Matthew

Abraham Lincoln's story ends tragically - but given a film about that story, knowing the ending, we need a great script and acting to keep us caring for what eventually happens. Jump ahead a few hundred years and in this legal drama (A. Lincoln was also a lawyer) we surely don't know if all turns out well in the end or at least the writer/director try to keep you guessing. A good film that occupies your mind with minor distractions (the repeated slow dissolves from blur to crisp film become trademark) along with witty last-liners that betray the writer rather than the individual characters that share one wit. 3/5 looks at my watch.

An enjoyable film

A solid three star movie, no blockbuster but entertaining just the same. Acting was good but the plot was a little cliche. The ending was a little disappointing but overall worth seeing. lochnesshampster
