Anyone who knocked this movie obviously hadn`t seen the television series or isn`t really a genre fan. The movie tied up a lot of loose ends and gave me my first comfortable feeling with it`s series pre-mature ending. The series was well written and acted and gave us something new in the sci fi genre. Unfortunately, most original sci fi series without the word "Trek" in the title don`t usually last more then one season and get thrown into unreliable time slots. SERENITY is an awesome film that tastes much better when backed by the series, but is still enjoyable on its own. Give it a chance, you won`t regret it, besides, just look at the incre

This was an AMAZING movie, it brought back everything awesome about the show while still being able to stand alone for new fans. AWESOME. must see! in fact, i`m seeing it again tonight! woo serenity!

This movie was, without a doubt, one of the worst movies I`ve ever seen. The dialogue was pathetic, even the heroes were murderers, and the "one-liners" were throwbacks from the 80s! I`ve attempted to watch a couple of episodes, but the premise of Rednecks in Space just blew me away... WHO THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE DECENT? I`d like to share with you all just one line of the insanely poor dialogue, "She`s beat up good, but she`ll fla true." That`s right, not only is is LAME, but it`s LAME WITH A SOUTHERN ACCENT! Some sci-fi premise. Stay home, don`t buy, don`t rent, don`t see in theatre... DOWNLOAD.

Eveything that made the series worth watching has now been put to the big screen. Deep and likable characters reinforce an interesting storyline. Mostly though you should go see Serenity because it`s lots of fun. Isn`t that what going to the theatre is all about?

I watched the series on DVD thought Fox were a bit loose in the head, but kudos to Universal for picking it up! I LOVED the movie! It explained so much yet left so much yet unanswered leaving room for sequels or a new series perhaps!?

For an "action movie" I was sorrily disappointed by the dull action. The only part worth watching is when Serenity reaches Meranda (or whatever that planet was called). My friend fell alseep. The End.

This is one of the most amazing movies I have ever seen. I absolutely loved the tv series and I can`t think of a better way to do it and the fans justice than by releasing such a wonderful, fun, thrilling ride of a movie. As a fan of the show, I can appreciate the movie all the more, but I highly recommend it to one and all. You do not need to have seen the show!!! But that I also highly recommend. Enjoy!!!!!!!!

I never saw the series but I must say this movie is so inconsistent. The characters seem to change by the scene. One moment they are strong next they are weak. The fight scenes looked like they were chorographed by Justin Timberlake. The fight scenes lookes like Nsync and Backstreet boys at a dance off. StarWars was great even after 6 episodes, this movie was a bad movie

A big time Firefly fan here having just seen Serenity. Wow, Joss Whedon pulled out all the stops on this one. Funny, dramatic, sad, exciting, shocking. I hope Serenity flies again. Shout out to the Browncoats! ~OweynRohanRider

Whether you watched the show or not, this is a excellent movie. Worth a couple of viewings. Its comedic, exciting, inticing and heart felt. Joss Whedon is incredible and so is the cast. Check it out, you won`t be disapointed. -jen

Wonderful movie! Funny,action packed,and bittersweet. I loved Serenity! People who have never watched the tv show can easily understand this movie. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys watching great films.

If you truly want a surprise , see this movie. From start to finish just amazing, this could be the summer blockbuster we never had. It just can`t be improved upon. Do yourself a favour and see it.

I am a very huge Firefly fan, and as a movie I found this very spectacular. Don`t expect the exact same dynamic as the show, though, because the characters here are less developed and much more distant.

The movie is simply brilliant. If you liked Firefly, you will love Serenity.

Definatly a must see, good for fans of Firefly and those new to the series.

Shows how a very good TV show could have been great if FOX would have given it time to develop a fan base. Shows how much they were interested in the show as Joss Whedon had to go to Universal to get the movie made. Hope another one will be in the works.

I was expecting a great film, but this beat expectations. The effects are great, the characters are well developed, there are definte surprises (especially for Firefly fans!) and there are underlying morals to the story. It is incredibly humourous, but not in a campy way, yet also very exciting. I truly hope there is a sequal. Many say it was cancelled too soon on TV, but I think this story and these characters have found their place on film. Out of 10 I would give it 9.5, it is actually that good!

Finally a movie that justifies going to the theatres! Don`t wait for the DVD, the movie must be experienced on the BIG screen to do it justice. This movie brings back all the fond memories of past decades when going to the movies was an EVENT. Bring your kids, let them experience what you felt the first time you watched "Star Wars" or "Jaws", when a movie becomes a part of cultural history. Don`t miss it!
