I am a big DC fan even though I LOVE the Marvel movies, but oddly I was not super interested in seeing Aquaman (especially after all the previous DC flicks) until a friend asked if I wanted to see it. I have to say, to all the haters out there...it's Fantasy and comics! I think it was well balanced between land action and sea action. A few side plots but it was not confusing. People want to compare it to Black Panther, but the only real similarity is a reluctant king and relative that wants the throne. Similar but far apart for different hatred/reasons for oding what they are doing and yet you can sympathize. I was actually glad I watched it as i finished a large popcorn when normally I don't, so it lead me to believe it really was a decent popcorn flick! It was also great to see a couple of leads from island decent. Hollywood is trying to stop whitewashing and it works! To see Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett) as Jason Mamoa's dad was awesome casting in my eyes!!! Worth seeing once.
