Demi Lovato forgot Sober lyrics onstage before overdose Published By Alexandra Heilbron on Jul 25, 2018

Demi Lovato onstageJust days before she overdosed on drugs, Demi Lovato was onstage at the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles on Sunday while performing her song, "Sober."

Unfortunately, she completely forgot the lyrics at one point, saying, "F***. I forgot the words," as she shrugged her shoulders and walked away.

Demi overdosed at her home just two days later on Tuesday and was unconscious before being revived with Narcan, an opioid treatment drug. The 25-year-old singer was rushed to hospital and is now in stable condition.

She wrote the song "Sober" after confessing she'd struggled with addiction to cocaine, Oxycontin and alcohol since the age of 17, when she was the star of the Disney Channel hit series Sonny with a Chance. She claimed to be sober in recent months, but relapsed this past June.

Last night's scheduled episode of the Fox game show Beat Shazam, on which Demi made a guest appearance, was cancelled after news of her overdose became public. The network released a statement that read: "In light of recent reports, we have decided to replace the episode of Beat Shazam with another all-new episode. Our thoughts go out to Demi and her family." ~Alexandra Heilbron

They didn't teach her about drugs at Band Camp...?
  • Dierdre Hoinkes - 7/26/2018 11:39:30 AM
Come on people, weren't you taught, that if you have nothing nice to say, don't say nothing at all, shame on you

Lovato couldn’t perform “Sober” because she was high. This is the literal definition of IRONY

Sounds like she was already wasted by the time she did Camp Rock. I remember reading an article somewhere that she introduced the Jonas Brothers to drugs. She's obviously an amazing person. I wish her the best.

If I learned one thing from this story, it's that Drugs are bad, M'Kay!

Hope she gets help again. It must be very difficult. I look at people like Cory Monteith, for example, its so sad.

the difference between trolls and comedians are that comedians make what they observe funny. trolls are the types of idiots that complain about the rain like they're the first person to have that original thought. get some friends trolls, and they would let you know that you are neither witty nor original. being mean doesn't make you interesting.

Guys, your sympathy is wasted. She is not a kind or nice person. Here's what I just read at Extra: "Along with parting ways with longtime manager Phil McIntyre, Lovato also fired her sober coach, Mike Bayer. Earlier this month, she threw shade at Bayer, tweeting, “Good luck on your blog." I guess him helping her to overcome her addictions was so annoying for her that she had to try to embarrass him in public. I'm sorry, but can I just say it? What a B.

I have no sympathy for her, Cory Monteith, Heath Ledger, etc. They are/were rich, famous, working in the field they wanted to work in, catered to at every turn, and still manage to mess it up. Don't get involved in drugs in the first place but if you do and you realize you in trouble, drop everything (since they have enough money to take a break and get help) and get clean before doing another thing (like a movie or concert). I'm not wasting any sympathy on self indulgent idiots.

i will pray for her complete recovery, i am not a fan nor do i know much about her,but i do know this...that the infestation of drugs in our country knows no color, culture, status,or sex...this is only an example of what our youth are having to deal with....Miss Lavato i leave you with this thought... you are being touched to serve a purpose, the Lord calls on some people to be Wingless Angles, and he would not ask something of you that you don't alresdy have the strength to do....my prayers for you and you family...may God bless you with all that you need to overcome

I hope Demi overcomes her addiction. For the insensitive ones that seem to think people that are rich and famous somehow deserve this - you are ignorant . Addiction affects the rich, the smart , the poor , middle class etc. No one would choose it . What a horrible life it must be to be controlled by a substance and lose yourself . Many do lose their lives. I hope she will get and stay sober . She’s a person , just because she’s rich and famous doesn’t mean she doesn’t feel and want the same things as everyone else.
  • Harvey Maxwell - 7/28/2018 8:12:53 AM
Sue Maxwell you're an idiot. She absolutely chose that lifestyle. Was she coerced to take narcotics? Was she blackmailed? Was she tricked into it? No she MADE a co conscious decision to take and continue to use said narcotics! If anyone is ignorant it's you. And obviously it's affecting her judgment. And instead of seeking treatment, she decided to reestablish her addiction and use her self indulgences to sooth her pain. I'm sure she had plenty of people she could rely on for help, but instead she would rather publicly humiliate not only herself but ALSO her family and coworkers. That's called being a selfish prick.

Saying my prayers for you to overcoming this problem. I saw a CORE drink stand up poster of you yesterday at a 7-11 store... You looked beautiful~Austin, TX is rooting for yr “comeback” chapter... Hugs & Aloha.!.

Shame on you Demi! People may be sympathetic to you about your "drug addiction" I am not! You knew about drugs and you knew the dangers of them and how addictive they are the moment you lowered your head on that table and snorted the coke with ur rolled up $ bill. you knew from then on, you were going to be a cokehead!!! Can't you see what it has done to other celebrities who did drugs and became addicted to it? You want to be part of that group? I hope you get well but I hope you gather your strength and stop falling off the wagon! You're supposed to be a role model to the young people and teach them about the harms drugs do to them and how to stay away from it!!! Never sing your "Sober" song again because you have failed!!!! It's a waste! I have friends and some family who OD and died from drugs and you are making fun of all of those who lost their lives over drugs including the rich! When you recover, open your eyes and see how selfish you have been! TIME FOR A CHANGE DEMI!!

I am shocked reading these comments. Would you talk to someone who has an eating disorder or self harms or watches too much netflx like that? It's the same thing. Coping with pain. Escaping the reality of what you are feeling. Is that the right way? Of course not, but some people just don't have the tools yet to deal with what life has to give. Just because someone is famous does not mean they have a pain free life. Drugs and alcohol affect so many people. And I bet you every single one of them when they were little did not say "I want to grow up to be an addict". But as life goes on there is pain. I'm not saying I'm a fan, but I am sure as heck not saying I'm glad she's suffering. Because I know (and I'm positive everyone else does) people try to escape pain through anything. All of you guys are just hypocrites because we are all addicted to something.
  • Tracy - 8/16/2018 6:27:47 PM
Amanda, thank you for your comment. You are exactly right! Kat Von C - Yes, drug addicts, alcoholics, anorexics etc. do make a conscious choice AT FIRST!However, addiction is a disease and the people I have worked with to become sober didn't want this for themselves and DON'T want to continue it. They need help to get clean, and it takes strength to admit that. I don't condone the behaviour of these celebrities but I think people need to remember that rich or not, they are still human beings with flaws just like everyone else! Except, apparently, the people who decided to post ignorant comments above. I guess they must be perfect.
