John Wick spin-off Ballerina gets theatrical release date Published By Alexandra Heilbron on Apr 05, 2023

Ana de Armas in the John Wick spin-off BallerinaThe much-anticipated John Wick spin-off Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas as an assassin who's out to get revenge after her family is killed, has set a theatrical release date.

Also starring Keanu Reeves, the movie will release June 7, 2024, although it's not clear how large a role Keanu will play in the film. Ana revealed earlier this year during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that her body was sore from performing combat scenes with Keanu, saying, "We've been in Prague filming for four months. We still have one more month to go. And I'm in pain. You know, my body, my back, everything hurts. I'm complaining, I'm sore, I'm bruised."

She added: "The other day, Keanu and I were rehearsing our very difficult stunt scene, and this man is just rolling and throwing me and doing crazy stunts. And I'm like – I can't complain anymore because he is doing it! He truly is the best."

John Wick: Chapter 4, which is currently in theaters, has earned over $123 million at the domestic box office in just two weeks of release and $244 million worldwide. It's currently in the second spot, having opened at the top of the weekend box office.

How can you have a "Spin-Off' with her,if she wasn't introduced in any of the "John Wick" series?Isn't that what a Spin-Off is all about, you introduce the character from one of the Series and then make a "Solo" film about them, where people do recall the character to make a film about them and how they met,etc.etc.Just a thought, nothing negative about the female character, just wondering!
