Top Gun: Maverick, starring Tom Cruise, remained at the top of the weekend box office. The sequel took in $86 million in its second week in theaters, bringing its total domestic gross to $291.6 million.

After dropping from the top of the box office last weekend, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, remained in second place. The film earned an additional $9.3 million over the weekend, for a five-week total of $388.7 million.

Holding onto third place for a second week was the animated film adaptation of the beloved television series, The Bob's Burgers Movie. This weekend, the film added an estimated $4.5 million, bringing its total earnings so far to $22.2 million.

Rising from fifth to fourth place this weekend, The Bad Guys took in an extra $3.3 million for a seven-week total of $87.3 million.

Rounding out the top five in its third weekend in theaters, Downton Abbey: A New Era pulled in an additional $3 million for a two-week total of $35.7 million. ~Megan Parsons
