A Thousand and One

Synopsis

Unapologetic and free-spirited Inez de la Paz (Teyana Taylor) visits her son Terry (Aaron Kingsley Adetola), who's in the foster care system. He has a cut on his head, and on an impulse, she asks him if he'd be happier with her. When he says "Yeah," she decides to kidnap him.

She takes him to an apartment in Harlem and introduces him to her boyfriend, Lucky (William Catlett), who's going to move in with them, who turns out to be like a dad to Terry. Holding onto their secret and each other, mother and son set out to reclaim their sense of home, identity and stability in a rapidly changing New York City.
