Ekaterina KaraglanovaA 24-year-old Russian Instagram influencer named Ekaterina Karaglanova, who had over 97,000 followers under the name katti-loves-life, was found dead in a suitcase in her Moscow apartment.

According to BBC News, Karaglanova had just graduated from medical school and was looking forward to beginning her career as a doctor. She was also a former Miss Moscow runner-up.

Karaglanova had just begun a new relationship and was planning a vacation to Holland for her 25th birthday with her new boyfriend. Days before her trip was scheduled, her parents were unable to contact her and went to her apartment.

Her body, which was in a suitcase in the hallway of her apartment, had multiple stab wounds. It's believed she was killed on July 23, just a week before her birthday on July 30. Her last Instagram post was on July 22.

CCTV footage showed her former boyfriend had made a brief visit to her apartment on July 23, and police now have the 33-year-old man in custody after saying they were investigating "jealousy as a possible motive." They have not released the suspect's name. ~Alexandra Heilbron

Obviously sad but 97,000 followers makes you an “influencer”? The girl with 1 million followers who couldn’t sell 30 shirts showed what a follower is worth.

I clicked on the link to her Instagram, she's already up to 104,000, people are actually following her after knowing she died.

You people are sad that all you can focus on is how many followers she has when what you should focus on is that this young girl with a whole future ahead of her has ended in a sad and tragic death. My heart goes out to the family you are in my prayers.

You're a good person, Kim. On another note, who's everyone voting for in the Who's your favourite Elizabeth? I'm having a hard time deciding.

Only 24 years old and killed one week to the day before her 25th birthday. Jealous ex = domestic violence and people are hung up on things that do not matter, like followers, the term influencer, and how much she possibly could have sold stuff for when alive. Domestic violence; her ex appears to have been the one who killed her. She loses a lifetime because a guy felt wronged. This is the kind of thing that happens when people leave abusive relationships. This is part of what's wrong in society and the fact that people are focusing on other things is how this world acts. Violence is wrong. Murder is wrong. This whole thing and the focus of people being where it shouldn't be is wrong. Focus on the real issue. Domestic violence.

It's a shame that as a society we have become numb to incidents of domestic violence. Because of it's frequency, we tend to focus on the uncommon characteristics that separates one victim from another. Sad state of the social media mainstream.

Beyond sad for her her and her family; although I have no idea who she is, she is still a human being and didn't deserve this. I hope that scumbag rots in jail, then hell.

The killer should be hung upside down and cut apart with a bow saw, slowly.

Agree 100% Joe G... People do need to go out and make friends and spend time with people who actually love and care about them as opposed to striving to accumulate nameless faceless “followers”. Even the term “followers” is kind of sad. God bless that girl, she had a family, she worked to become a doctor, she had her whole life ahead of her.
