Matt Damon and Viola Davis in AirThere are plenty of movies opening all across the country this weekend, including Air, directed by Ben Affleck and starring Matt Damon; and Simulant, starring Sam Worthington (Avatar), Robbie Amell (The Flash) and Jordana Brewster (Fast & Furious). The Super Mario Bros. Movie - In this big screen adaptation of the popular video game, a plumber named Mario (voice of Chris Pratt) travels through an underground labyrinth with his brother, Luigi (voice of Charlie Day), trying to save a captured princess (voice of Anya Taylor-Joy). Air - While scouting the latest N.B.A. draftees to sign, Nike marketing exec Sonny Vaccaro (Matt Damon) spots upcoming star basketball player Michael Jordan and decides he would be the best athlete to front a new shoe for them. However, he first has to get Jordan and his ambitious mother Deloris (Viola Davis) on board. Click here for showtimes.

Simulant - Evan (Robbie Amell) and Faye (Jordana Brewster) have humanoid A.I.s in their images, just in case anything ever happens to them. When Evan dies in a car crash, Faye has his Simulant activated. Meanwhile, government agent Kessler (Sam Worthington) is determined to stop the rise of machine consciousness, while A.I. programmer Casey (Simu Liu) works on making the Simulants autonomous beings. Click here for showtimes.

Simulant director April Mullen and co-stars Robbie Amell and Jordana Brewster discuss what it was like filming the sci-fi thriller in Hamilton. Jordana, who lives in California, talks about driving on icy Ontario roads, while Robbie admits his most difficult scene was on his first day on the set with Sam Worthington. Robbie also reveals what co-star Simu Liu and he did together when they had spare time.

Soft - Three adolescent friends become enraptured in the queer nightlife scene over summer break before a missing person pulls them back into the reality they have chosen to leave behind. Opening in Toronto; opens April 14 in Winnipeg, April 21 in Calgary and May 19 in Saskatoon. Click here for showtimes.
