Vin Diesel in tears after stuntman injures head in 30-foot fall Published By Tribute on Jul 24, 2019

Vin Diesel in The Fate of the Furious

Fast and Furious production was put on hold after Vin Diesel's stunt double was seriously injured on set.

Professional stuntman Joe Watts, who works as Vin Diesel's stunt double, was reportedly left “seriously injured” and placed in an induced coma after an accident during filming for Fast & Furious 9.

Watts fell from a height of 30 feet directly onto his head according to witnesses, at film studios in Leavesden, U.K. Reports also say paramedics and police were present when Watts was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital on Monday. He remained hospitalized on Tuesday.

Watts' girlfriend Tilly Powell, a stuntwoman, said her "heart is shattered," and  "I love him so much. He has all his friends and family by his side to get him through this."

Production was halted Monday when cast and crew were distraught after witnessing or learning of the tragedy. Filming resumed on Tuesday.

Vin Diesel was apparently left "choking back tears" after witnessing the accident.

Lest we forget, the cast of Fast and Furious lost one of its main members, Paul Walker, when he tragically passed away in an off-set car crash during filming back in 2013.

Each F&F movie needs to top the previous one, I think they need to really seriously take a look at the stunts and are they necessary and double check rigging and coordination. Lately there are a few stunts gone really bad. Look at Tom Cruise, look at the stunt double for Zazie Beetz for Deadpool 2 who died. Tough industry, be safe and if it feels wrong, don't do it until it's right!

I feel sorry for his family ..i am a combat veteran I have many injuries sustained in the military..I don't feel regrets..but when I voluntarily joined and knew each mission was dangerous we didn't have stunt men we didn't get high salary we were real ..and we lived with the consequences it's what we do ..the tragedies that happen on a movie set are just that ..I don't think you'll ever see big headlines of any service men or women getting injured on the battle field and I think America's got it twisted..this isn't mr.rodgers neighborhood ..this isn't make believe ..it's for real ..Joe Watts..get well Prayers to you brother..I pray you do not let anything stop you ..you have the guts to do what you do ..and I respect that ..you make those who don't have it ..look good on screen you are unsung hero's..I acknowledge your strength your courage and most of all your spirit stay positive you'll get through this..OOOORAHH

Wow less then a day and they begin filming again. Blood and tears and highly likely a life lost. Only when the main actors have injured themselves. They can afford to stop production for weeks or months. It never matters what the box-office, ticket sales are. It’s all about the money lost during filming. Even with training and top skill sets. Terrible things can happen.

My prayers go out to Joe Watts his girlfriend Tilly, their family and friends, also to the actors and crew that were effected by what happened.
