Bud Cort inherits the Bates Motel and tries to make a go running the place, but strange strange goings on and specious shenanigans seem to be keeping the customers away. Cort hires a guy played by Lori Petty to help out and drum up some business. The spooky derring-do is revealed to be Gregg Henry in a Scooby-Doo ending, but the real twist is that the so-called scary stuff wasn't the thing keeping the customers away; people just don't want to stay in motels run by creepy asexuals. Jason Bateman puts in a turn as a ghost in what must burrow under ever TEEN WOLF TOO! as his career nadir. This tv-movie was a pilot for a proposed series that was not greenlit to proceed, thankfully. You'll probably want to take a shower after watching this turkey.
