Synopsis

Lary and his wife go to his mother's house to attend a traditional memorial service for his father, who died 40 days earlier. Before the arrival of the priest, brothers, sisters and cousins exchange news and discuss a variety of topics, before the traditional meal arrives. Internal divisions and family secrets begin to emerge beneath the surface. One cousin, Puiu, is obsessed with 9/11 conspiracy theories. An aunt who was a former party member under the Ceaucescu regime, is cringing about some of the guests present. The arrival of the priest and his clerics rings a truce. But not for long. The meal will have to wait.
