Marvel confirms Deadpool animated TV series Published By Tribute on May 11, 2017

DeadpoolMarvel TV chief Jeph Loeb confirmed that FX is pairing with Golden Globe winning Atlanta creator and Han Solo - A New Star Wars Story star Donald Glover to bring fans a Deadpool TV series.

Loeb explained, "Deadpool, Donald and FX — the perfect fit for the Merc with the Mouth! We're thrilled that our relationship with FX that started with Legion continues with what is sure to be a groundbreaking show in adult animation."

FX original programming president Nick Grad also confirmed the news, saying, "Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who’ll bring the untitled Marvel’s Deadpool series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit Atlanta. With the success of Legion, we’re looking forward to again partnering with Marvel Television to create a series that is bold, striking and entirely original."

The 2016 feature film starring Ryan Reynolds as the foul-mouthed superhero did big business at the box office ($760 million worldwide, to be exact) and delighted fans looking for a fresh take on the done-to-death superhero genre. So much so that a sequel, Deadpool 2, was ordered and is set to be released in March of next year.

Ten episodes of the untitled adult animated comedy have been ordered and are set for launch in 2018.

As usual, suck the life blood right out of this character too. Ever heard of too much of a good thing?

Yeah, how about creating a tv show that has nothing to do with comic books?
