Ryan Phillippe opposes Reese Witherspoon testifying against him Published By Alexandra Heilbron on Aug 21, 2019

Ryan PhillippeRyan Phillippe's ex-girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, accused him of assault in July 2017, and the case is finally heading to court next month (Sept. 6, 2019).

Phillippe denies claims he threw Hewitt down his staircase as outlined in the lawsuit, which also alleges the actor, who has two children, Ava and Deacon, from his marriage to Reese Witherspoon, abused drugs such as "cocaine, ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms, and steroids."

Hewitt has sent deposition notices to Witherspoon, asking her to testify about her marriage to Phillipe in court, but Phillippe wants the judge to block the request. He previously tried to keep his ex-girlfriend Paulina Slagter from testifying in the case, but the judge ruled against him.

Phillipe also wants previous police reports filed against him, and references to past relationships, including text messages between Witherspoon and him that are on record with the LAPD, from being used in the case.

According to The Blast, his lawyer wrote: “Although divorced, they maintain a pleasant relationship with each other and their child (sic). The nature of their marriage and its termination, as well as their ongoing relationship could only be used in this trial for improper purposes."

Witherspoon, who filed for divorce from Phillippe in 2006 after seven years of marriage, has never spoken publicly about the details behind their split. She has been married to talent agent Jim Toth since 2011 and they have a son together.

Phillippe claims he was simply trying to escort Hewitt from his house when she fell down the stairs. ~Alexandra Heilbron

He's a public figure. She must have known or heard about his alleged wrongdoings in his previous relationships, otherwise she wouldn't be requesting that his exes to testify. Yet she chose to be in a relationship with him despite his alleged past. The things we women do for fame and money. SMDH

I just find it odd that this isn't a police matter. "Filed a lawsuit" as opposed to calling the police and having him charged. I have no idea what happened but, it seems that there is always that money factor. This lady wants cash and didn't inform the police to get him charged with assault ??????? Funny isn't it ? In the normal world, we of meager means would call the police and they would investigate a potential assault. Not get a lawyer and try to tap the purse strings of someone who supposedly did something criminal !!! Hmmmmm, golddigger ??? Later folks, guess we'll see the outcome at some point ? Having other people testify at a money grab seems really strange, but, what do I know ?

Im pretty sure the young woman involved attempted to get charges laid by the police, but was told it was her word against his. Possibly she was advised to get a lawyer to file suit. It happens every day.

"Phillippe claims he was simply trying to escort Hewitt from his house when she fell down the stairs." A likely story. Maybe she just bumped into the wall too. Of course he doesn't want Witherspoon to testify or another ex-girlfriend either. He doesn't sound too stable. Seems he has a violent history. Hope he gets convicted and goes to prison.

I think that none of you have any idea what is going on since you weren’t and should stop speculating. The Robles is too many people with a view with no true understanding of what’s going on. Before you spout guilty or innocent remember you weren’t involved.

As if he has the choice. The opposing lawyer can bring whomever they think will increase their chances in getting him as much jail time as possible. Duh, what a moron! We really need more chlorine in the gene pool!!!
