Walt Disney World sets reopening dates for July 2020 Published By Tribute on May 27, 2020

Walt Disney WorldWalt Disney World is planning on reopening its gates to visitors by mid-July.

The company expects to begin the phased reopening with the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom parks on July 11. EPCOT and Hollywood Studios will follow on July 15.

There will be several safety measures in effect, including mandatory face coverings for all employees and guests, temperature screenings before entering the park, and more access to hand-sanitizing and washing stations.

The parks will operate at a reduced capacity and all events that create crowds -- including parades and fireworks -- will be suspended. Character meet and greets are also on hold for now.

Attendance will be managed through a new reservation system, requiring all guests to have an advanced reservation for park entry. Priority access will go towards existing ticket holders and annual passholders. All new ticket sales and hotel reservations are currently suspended.

The plan is now just waiting on approval from Orange County's mayor and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. ~Brie Davis
