Quite possibly the worst movie ever
Pathetic Ari Aster tries to work out his mommy issues in the endless, worthless film.
Endless Freudian tedium. Earlier reviews posted here say that this is one of the worst films ever made and I wholeheartedly agree. It's certainly much worse than Plan 9 from Outer Space. Say what you will about Ed Wood, he was merely a dilettante whereas Ari Aster is a complete fraud.
Horrible 'art film' about a hairlipped loser. Why make a film about a passive failure of a person?
Horrible. It's worse than AIDS.
Some artists refer to their own work as 'therapy'. Ari Aster should've just seen a shrink. He should be embarrassed by this pretentious and endless claptrap. A three-hour cinematic Freudian slip. Horrendous.
Atrocious. Serious candidate for the most insufferably pretentious movie ever made. It's certainly one of the worst.
Pretentious. Endless. Pointless. Total garbage.
The massively overpraised hack Ari Aster is back with his usual M.O.: he starts his film intriguingly, but has absolutely nowhere to go, and takes his sweet time getting there. Aster has no clue how to write a decent ending; and why do his films have to be so damned LONG??? Hey Ari, if you're going to take your audience to absolutely nowhere, can you at least take a shortcut, you f**king hack?!?
Piece of crap.
Greatest movie in years.
A psychological labyrinth takes us through the mind of a passive loser. Interminable and unbearably pretentious. A three-hour butt-burner that really breaks down in the third act. Miss it.
Loved it. Made me excited for cinema.
Currently in the lead for the worst film of the year. Ari Aster is capable of so much more as one the best directors out there, but this is a long and self-indulgent slog with a tired message.
Worse movie I’ve ever seen. Drudgery!
MORE IMAGINATION than I've SEEN in YEARS!!! OUTRAGEOUS, HYSTERICAL, LEFT ME BREATHLESS at TIMES. JP always 'Picks' HIS ROLES and This Seemed PERFECT for Him. Amazing. And- FINALLY a DECENT SEX SCENE in an American Movie!! YAAY! Strange, but SO GOOD! Parker Posey- did not disappoint. (STYLISH & HOT!)) LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT. You either WILL, or Won't. If you like 'off the beaten Path' weirdness, you WILL, I think. I MUST see Again! A bit of Wes A. 'off-the-wall' flavor. SEE IT NOW!
Interesting movie on the effects being raised by a narcissist.
