such a great movie! the best Superman movie to date, a must see movie. Hope it makes billions so they can make more superman movies with more action and doomsday, etc...some people don't know how to critic, Lois Lane is a pretty actress. Just like the Batman reboot, keep it up, I love it. this comments is rare, I am usually a hard critic in movies.

Awesome! So awesome! Love Lois, is was not annoying but balanced strong with feminine softness. Love both dads, Crowe and Coster. Crowe did an amazing job and look great. People need to remeber this is reboot of superman so things need to be explained and understood who Superman is. People need to stop hating! And the music was amazing Zimmer rules!

A Superman movie that finally gives a post-crisis Superman. A New Superman for new generation. .Gone is the silver age "perfect and flawless big blue boy scout of boy scouts", we now have a more human Superman who is trying to find his place in the world and find where he belongs. This movie really does a fantastic job of giving us story of how Superman can come to exist in our world without rehashing the origin story for over half the movie. After watching it the first time I likely would have only given the movie a 3.5/5 or a 4/5, but I think that was largely because i spent that first viewing comparing it to the old 1978 films and the comics. Isn't Lois Lane supposed to be attractive? This movie gets everything wrong in so many ways! It's like they set out to disappoint people, and in THAT they clearly succeeded.

So much potential, ruined by stupidity! Pa Kent death scene was stupid! Movie dragged to much in the middle, you could have cut out 45 minutes and would not have made a difference. Amy Adams was the best part of the film, finally a good Lois (Kidder to old, Hatcher just sucks and Durance was ok)!

Great job with putting the story together, great cast, directing, shots,cg and music. Overall the technical aspect and entertainment value were well done. So much better then the last one. Everything about it made you think, this is everything Superman is suppose to be!

Adams is no Teri Hatcher. A HUGE disappointment.

We don't care about Superman in this movie because we don't care about Lois, who's so annoying she ruins every scene she's in. If Supes had let her die I swear the entire audience would have stood and applauded.

with the dark tone of this movie, i don't think it would be too far fetched to team up nolan's batman with this superman.

i don't know.. i liked the first half of the movie. it was an attempt to make superman's story more believable, which is what nolan tries to do in his movies. but the fight back and forth between superman and general zod was painful to watch. The movie served well as a logical introduction to the superman story, an alien being hiding among humans until he is forced out of his shell by some otherworldly threat. There is a christian archetype to the superman character and that was poked at some in this movie, a saviour for mankind. but the fighting in the last half of the movie was a page out of avengers or iron man, and it turned the film to cheese. the portrayal of krypton was amazing, i mus

previews lead you to believe this movie is about character and emotion. Instead you get awe and destruction.

great action and destruction. good cast and performances. however, every attempt to add heart or emotion was rushed and disjointed, filled with shaky-cam-itis! (yes I mean when everyone is standing still...lol)

Henry Cavill embodies Superman beautifully. If you're looking for a lot action and a decent performances - this is the movie for you. If you're looking for a logical storyline and in depth character exploration - you'll be disapointed.

this was a movie i was expecting more from, im not a big superman fan so i needed more story,still it was very good but not great.i give it a strong 7.5 -10. where do they go from here?the cast was awesome good job.

Why couldn't they have gotten Natalie Portman to play Lois?

Since I was a kid and saw Christopher Reeves, Superman. I have loved the character, I watched the cartoons, the shows from the fifties, and of course I read the comic. In 2007 I couldn't wait for Superman Returns. And all though most people didn't like the movie. I did, but I also liked it for what it was, a tribute to the previous movies and Christopher Reeves. Tonight I watched Man of Steel, and I can say without a doubt, that this is the Superman I have always wanted to see! This is the movie I have waited for, as a fan of Superman. GO SEE THIS MOVIE! Hands down a great movie. Way better than what the trailer led on it to be. All the actors/actresses with a major role were great. A must see.

By far the best Superman film to date. Henry Cavill IS Superman. Russell Crowe was an amazing Jor-El and I could have watched a full movie based on him and his world of Krypton.
