I’ve seen a documentary of how Philippine Pres. Quezon, along with High Commissioner McNutt, Col. Eisenhower and Jewish businessman Alex Frieder, rescued 1,200 Jews over poker and cigars. Quezon’s Game explained the political challenges he had to face in being able to save only 1,200 out of the 10,000 he was willing to receive. What an inspiring legacy.
