Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace 25th Anniversary

So bad, it's good. Didn't remember anything about it and thoroughly enjoyed it the second time 25 years later

It's been 45 yrs since I last saw the 1st 2 Star Wars only (not Trek!).It was exciting, and I love the young actor, although he's not a great actor! It made me think,(but just for half a second) maybe I'll go watch all the Star Wars movies, but probably not. The comic relief character reminds me of Gulam in his speech.

I remember seeing the trailer for the Phantom Menace. Star Wars had not had a new movie in over 10 years. Everyone thought it was done. The Return of the Jedi wrapped everything up nicely and that was it. No one knew what to expect. It was brand new territory. Darth Maul and his theme song were the coolest things every created. I was always disappointed that the double lightsaber was spoiled in the very first trailer and this started my avoiding trailers for good movies. This was a really good movie, and in that vein, so was the Force Awakens. But the prequel trilogy just kept getting better and the sequel trilogy became a mess. Getting to watch it again on the big screen, or for the first time? Worth it.
