Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman dead at 43 Published By Alexandra Heilbron on Aug 29, 2020

Chadwick Boseman dies at 43Chadwick Boseman, who rose to fame playing Jackie Robinson in 42 (2013) and James Brown in Get On Up (2014) before starring in the title role in the Marvel film Black Panther (2018), died Friday at his home in Los Angeles, surrounded by his wife and family. He was 43 years old.

Boseman had been diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, but never spoke publicly about it. He continued to work steadily after his diagnosis, playing Black Panther in two more Marvel/Avenger films, as well as starring in films such as Marshall (2017) and 21 Bridges (2019), serving as producer as well for the latter film.

A statement was posted to his official Twitter page (see full post above), that read in part:

“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman.

"It was the honor of his life to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.

"The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time."

Boseman is survived by his wife, singer Taylor Simone Ledward, his parents, Carolyn and Leroy Boseman and two older brothers, Derrick and Kevin. ~Alexandra Heilbron

I literally cannot believe this. He was one of my favourite actors, even since I saw him in 42. RIP Chadwick, you will be greatly missed.

Another awful event in a truly awful year. Condolences and best wishes to Mr Boseman's family and friends. Thanks to him for a wonderful, unfortunately small, legacy in film.

What a tragic event. A beautiful, talented young man. Everyone should do a simple test to do a check-up every so often. It can be caught often but it's sneaky in young people.

The shock is still here. It's and odd coincidence he passed away at the age of 43 on Jackie Robinson Day! So talented. Of course people will remember him playing Jackie, James and T'Challa as his legacy is cemented on film forever. An immense talent which was just skyrocketing! Rest In Power, King. :(

What an amazing celebrity, that he never told anyone. Didn't go on the cover of People to talk about it, just quietly kept working and living his life.
