Great special effects. The queen was the most interesting character. Johnny Dep was a little lack luster and generally blah. Overall the movie was ok. If you haven't seen it yet, I would wait for the video.
As a person that has never experienced the "Alice In Wonderland" story, I liked this movie. I agree that it would've been just as good had it not been in 3D. It seemed a bit rushed, but as long as you pay attention to the movie, everything comes together. Not to mention it contains one of the best life-lessons a movie could have: Always question the status-quo. I give it 3.5-stars, but gave it 3-stars to help pull it down from the 4-star rating. It's worth 1 watch, no purchase from me.
Amazing..I have never seen Alice in Wonderland or read the book, so everything coming up was a mystery...(I'm a Harry Potter fan) I started to laugh when I heard the caterpillars voice--any other person that has seen Harry Potter might too..
Saw the previews and thought it would be amazing. Saw the movie and thought that it was OK.
The same story line as Narnia but with kooky characters. The 3D was nothing like Avatar.
Excellent Film Johney Depp is amazing
Saw it yesterday, I will stop seeing movies in 3D, It really hurt my eyes. but another then that, It was good. but there was one part at the end of the movie that I didnt like, Mad Hatter really ruined it. Didn't like the name of the dragon it was very annoying(Wasn't it the name of the dance crew on ABDC??) I love the Red Hearts Queen, she was great. There is a few frightening scences that my daugther didn't like.
Visually stunning and hilarious. By far the best movie we have seen in some time.
Almost went to sleep! A Renter for sure.
The movie rocks I hope u make alice and wonderland 2 and 3
The movie rocks
I hated the cartoon movie and book of Alice in Wonderland so I was debating whether or not to see this version. Johnny Depp and Tim Burton have never let me down before and they did not this time! It was a fantastic movie, a must see! Great costumes and development of characters!
This movie was very good. It touched on the traditional story of Alice while making it a film for adults. Johnny Depp was fantastic in his role as the mad hatter; he was weird and twisted and as usual pulled it off. The movie had some humorous parts and the actress that played the red queen did a great job. The movie was a visually creative, colorful and imaginative. It was a great take on a classic children’s book. I give this movie 3.5 stars It was well worth seeing it in 3D
Film was okay... most people are seeing it for one of two reasons 1)Depp or 2)Burton Film. Since it is 3D people are liking that too, not much too this movie... but better then Avatar which is basically Dances with Wolves except with blue people.
Burton realy outdid himself this time.He took a clasic movie, and turned it into something new,and unseen
Best movie in the silvercity ancaster
this moive is awsome!!!!
awesome
It's awesome!!!
this was the best movie ever!!
this is one of the fantastic movies of all the movie.
I loved this movie. You really have to listen though...or you miss some of the dialogue.
Burton's command of color and peculiar characters plays to great advantage in Alice in Wonderland. By making the film a coming-of-age tale in which Alice returns to an Underland she doesn't remember - except as a nightmare - Burton can create a lead character who isn't thrown, willy-nilly, into a rambling series of unconnected vignettes but, rather, is on a quest to find herself. Brilliant stuff.
Well done!!!
This is one ofthe worst movies ever!!!
This movie was okay, it isn't a memorable one though. The computer graphics are amazing but the plot seems to be all over the place and had poor attempts of charater developpement. I also expected more humour from Johnny Depp.
The magic of the story was lost in the set design,in the interpretation and missing aspects of the original story, Alice was unbelievable and the house of cards never fully explored
People who don't like this movie, are probably the same ones who are rivted by Twilight. Get a life, this movie ROCKS!
AMAZING!
I liked it, a lot. It was not exactly Alice, it was a story using the characters and roughly (very roughly) the tone of the Wonderland books. Visually impressive with a fair bit of humour. I was puzzled as to the intended audience. For kids it should have been lighter, for teens more edgey and for adults they could have stretched the boundaries more. At any rate, I thought it was imaginative and worth seeing.
Wonderful movie with loads of colorful characters! Tim Burton proposes a new vision of the classic tale and it's great! All the actors are amazing and the movie is visually stunning! A must see in 3D!
If you're expecting THE greatest substance-induced hallucination movie, as the original was, you'll be very disappointed. The 3D wasn't great at all (watched it in Real D 3D not IMAX) and actually gave me a head ache. If you're looking for a decent movie to watch this spring with the family or even for a date movie, have at it. If your a Wonderland Fanboy/girl you're going to be very disappointed. Than again if you are a Fanboy/girl you probably already were disappointed in Real D on opening night.
Great piece of work!
i didnt like this movie at all.it was a disapointment, i was all excited to see it cuz i loved the origial one. this one just didnt seem to follow the story line. not enought color in fact hardly any. there should have been color after all tehy did write this on drugs!.
Excellent movie, very fantastical, loved the chesire cat, the dog all the characters in wonderland
I was never a fan of this novel BUT I really LOVED this in 3D. There were so many comical moments. Most of all, I loved the ending when she found her "muchness", defied the tradition of dependence on marriage and had the courage to do things her way. A MUST see again.
by far one of my favorite Tim Burton films!!! Fantastic job!
This movie was disappointing after all the months of pre-advertising it had received. There was no magic or any real heart to this film. Many of the characters were poorly presented, both visually and with little character development This definitely was not the "must see" movie event I was expecting. Kudos to Helena Bonham Carter though for her very funny and over the top performance!
I saw this in 2D and as an adult found this movie thoroughly enjoyable. The costumes, scenery and makeup are fantastic. As you expect, this movie is vibrant, strange, humorous, full of amazing detail and rediculous realities. Just as it should be. But I can't help feeling that this movie would have been better had it been made darker and more warped for older audiences rather than for families. Still, I would recomend leaving your younger children at home, as they are not going to understand what they are seeing, and will be disturbed and frightened.
WAAAAAAAAY better than Avatar!
