A good film but not nearly as great as all the publicity suggests.

Thursday, January 19, 12:41:00 PM

From an open-minded heterosexual males’ point of view, this film was too much. The love story could have been communicated with less nudity and sexual scenes. This one definitely will appeal to women more then men. Why was I naïve enough to believe it would be any different? The next time a film on a similar topic comes out, I will not be inclined to go, because of Brokeback Mountain!

1) I stayed silent throughout the entire film except for during one part, when I collapsed in a stream of sobbing tears. I had to stuff my face in my pashmina to stifle them. 2) The score, which won best orig. score, moved the movie along and said volumes that weren`t spoken. The scenes were breathtaking. The dialogue was minimal, but... Powerful. All superficial elements paled in comparison to the storyline, however. 3) I don`t think that I`ve ever walked away from a movie theatre feeling like I just watched a piece of history unfold. Finally, and this point is the most important so it`s going to stand alone: Those men are the best

Tuesday, January 17, 11:31:56 PM

I`ve seen it 2x; if I see it any more, I`ll be hospitalized in a facility for the insane because I won`t be able to stop crying.

Tuesday, January 17, 10:53:51 PM

It was an absolute beautiful and heartbreaking movie! I saw it weeks ago and can`t stop thinking about it!! Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger did an incredible job, definitely my favourite movie.

Tuesday, January 17, 07:31:40 PM

"BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN" is a tender deeply human and touchiung film about two people`s love for one another. I didn`t ever believe a film like this would find many main stream moviegoers desiring to see it. I am so happy those who have seen it are as touched by the film as was I. It is not a "gay" movie but simply about life and love and so few of us know truly so that love has many faces. Think about it.

Tuesday, January 17, 01:59:50 PM

Brokeback Mountain is a absolutely five stars that I`ve see in movie theatre in 2006.Jake is my favourite actor because he is doing very good job.I really injoyed that movie but I almost cry in movie theatre in the end. I can`t wait to buy dvd. If people who complaned that is a gay movie, please don`t see Brokeback Mountain and go see Hostle.

Tuesday, January 17, 12:26:31 PM

Maybe I would`ve enjoyed it better if Heath hadn`t mumbled all his lines and if the two leads hadn`t been so selfish. If you wanna be with someone, do it. Just don`t go and involve innocent people and break their hearts and ruin their lives while you`re trying to figure out what the hell you`re doing.

Tuesday, January 17, 06:06:47 AM

I thought it was excellent, one of the best movies I,ve seen in a long time. I saw the opening premeire on Dec 16 and it still in my thoughts.

Tuesday, January 17, 12:03:46 AM

It was a great movie.

Monday, January 16, 11:01:46 PM

I never wanted two people to be together so badly. It stired up every emotion. Thank you to the writers and cast for a great movie. I can`t wait to buy it on dvd to watch at home.

Monday, January 16, 05:09:40 PM

A wonderful film that touches your heart. The main actors really deliver deep and heartfelt portrayals of characters who you feel for. The realness of this story is in it`s simple yet complex dealings with love. Everyone can relate to the paradox inherent in true love and that common element draws you into the story right from the start, regardless of what your personal preferences are. A must see film which was long overdue to be made.

Monday, January 16, 10:50:11 AM

I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE GOOD BUT IT WAS SO HORRIBLE I CAN`T BELIEVE I WASTED MY TIME WATCHING IT!!!! I FOUND IT BORING THROUGHOUT! I`D RATHER SLEEP THAN WATCH THE MOVIE...A BIG THUMBS DOWN FOR THIS MOVIE! DON`T WASTE UR $$$$ PEOPLE.

Monday, January 16, 09:02:21 AM

This movie was so touching. It made me greatful for how far our society has come, and fearful of how far we still have to go. Those of you that take time and energy to argue the gay issue should spend that precious energy on issues that hurt people not issues about who can love who.

Sunday, January 15, 06:50:30 PM

This movie was long overdue. it was also to long lol

Sunday, January 15, 03:06:47 PM

It was a really good movie, kind of slow though but brilliant!

Sunday, January 15, 12:59:07 PM

I loved it. All you haters have had your Romeo and Juliet stories done over and over again *yawn*. I finally see a story that reflects love between two people that aren`t straight. I am tired of the medias portrayal of gay man as caricatures like flaming designers with nothing to do but get a tan. These are real men. These are real people all hurt by society`s intolerance. Maybe it`s just too deep for those who take for granted the freedom they have to love whom they wish. Go see it and challenge your prejudices.

Saturday, January 14, 11:15:52 PM

I went in with high expectations. This is usually disasterous, movies just don`t live up to their hype. Brokeback Mountain exceeded my expectations. The performances were brilliant. Everyone is talking about Heath but I thought Jake carried the movie. This is not a gay love story. It`s simply a love story.

Saturday, January 14, 07:02:36 PM

It was a tragic love story.....not about gender...bout love.....you actually wanted the two men to leave their families and make a new life for themselves..... Is it a movie I would go see again....? No!.....Unlike Pretty Woman..where Julia Roberts ...gets the fairy tale and the whole ball of wax.....and has the happy ending....this...Brokeback Mountain is very sad.

Saturday, January 14, 06:11:45 PM

Well done! A movie you are still thinking about days later. People need to go to this movie and be educated about love, relationships and the real life struggles many people face. Even though the movie`s story started back in 1963 - here we are over 40 years later and the same prejudices and phobias exist.

Saturday, January 14, 02:01:42 PM

A great love story! Realistic homosexual relationship, and a heartbreaking ending. Definetly an Oscar contendor.

Saturday, January 14, 03:33:30 AM

It`s a winnner! Very touching and the nature scenes add to the beauty of the story.

Saturday, January 14, 01:37:52 AM

This film is so hot it scorches your heart and your senses, and burns in your mind for days afterward. I`ve seen it three times already and cant wait to see it again.

Friday, January 13, 07:00:57 PM

The Best movie in a long time!!!

Friday, January 13, 06:55:28 PM

Amazing film.. it opens your eyes up to a part of YOU that you never knew was there before. Looking back on this film, it makes you frustrated that something could not be done to change the outcome. You know that in real life, Brokeback Mountain has occurred to men and women over the world countless times due thanks to a biased, closed minded society. This beautifully written, filmed and choreoraphed picture really makes you think about how love affects human beings and the world around them.

Friday, January 13, 04:18:36 PM

This is my #1 pick for the Oscars Nominations. I can`t wait to see if the people who choose the greatest movies of the year are homophobic or not ! Love between two men who deal with these feeling their own ways... it is well portrayed. The mountains views are fabulous.

Friday, January 13, 02:19:06 PM

I thought this was an excellent movie, touching sincere, real. I forgot it was a love story between two men. The sensitivity in the portrayal of their story surpassed the genders and personal sexual beliefs. It was wonderful!

Friday, January 13, 12:49:58 AM

People are stupid, one guy complains that the movie is too gay, another complains that too many people smoked in it, some other guy complained becasue it was boring. My God, this movie is a slow, gay and cowboy movie set between the 60`s and 80`s, people smoke. As for the gay part, this movie is based on two gay cowboys and their relationship for one another and their reality with this issue in the real world. If you don`t want to see anything gay, go see Hostel, i am sure many more Heterosexuals will enjoy that more. What i really loved and appreciated from this movie was the cinematography and the ability to emotionally touch me with a stor

i absolutely loved this movie! i live in london and when it came out in december i didn`t know it was only out in limited release, so i was so mad that it wasn`t coming to london. but then it came out last weekend so me and my friend were so excited that it had finally come to london! me and my friend have been planning to see it since we thought it was coming out in december. so anyways back to the movie. we absolutely loved it, but there was only one part at the end that didn`t really ruin the movie it was just a real downer (if you`ve seen the movie you know what i`m talkin about). don`t you hate it when they do that in movies?! well, that

Thursday, January 12, 03:04:36 AM

STUPID GAY MOVIE

Wednesday, January 11, 10:15:09 PM

A story well portrayed..... as sad as it is....... A must see film.... As the ratings show...you either Love it or Hate it. If your anti - gay.......stay at home

Wednesday, January 11, 10:05:00 PM

I loved this movie. It was a really great film with suberb acting by the sexy heath ledger. I highly recommen this movie to everyone because it was beautiful!

Wednesday, January 11, 09:09:10 PM

I wanted more dancing!!!

Wednesday, January 11, 05:29:32 PM

This movie was REALISTIC since the 2 guys were not all that experieced with their sexuality so the movie realistically portrayed an awkward sexual realtionship. It was appaling that some people are so self-righteous; they demean other people`s feelings cause they`re into boinking a member of the opposite sex. It`s convenient for critics to ignore that the gay characters had a loving relationship with kids/parents. That`s a famiy value!

Wednesday, January 11, 09:13:23 AM

What really shows how selfish they are is that they got married and had kids. If you`re gay, don`t mess around with women and mess up their lives and the lives of kids. And to the person who thinks we`re brainwashed to be hetero, are you okay in the head? If we`re being brainwashed, it`s to accept a gay lifestyle as an alternative. Nobody`s brainwashed to be what they already are.

Wednesday, January 11, 01:12:04 AM

Saw it, and there wasn`t this tenderness people talk about. It was boring combined with crude dialogue and needless disturbing scenes. Typical liberal Hollywood to push movies like this, then to garner it with awards for being so daring and beautiful. I`m gonna make a movie about the struggling love between two cousins in a world of prejudice. It too will be daring and beautiful!!! LOL! Please stop the madness!

Tuesday, January 10, 10:45:47 PM

Disliking a movie based on the sexual prefrences of the lead characters makes about as much sense as disliking a song cause of the colour of the lead singer. Go see this movie, base you reviews on the quality of the content. And remember, it`s only fiction.

Tuesday, January 10, 05:50:01 PM

very touching and tragic love story. was a bit slow and could have had more intamit seens together to show there real love for each other. it is a pleasure to see a movie like this on the big screen and to have a story behind it. i found it very touching when the trip to jacks house was made and the shirts were found. there was also the mothers way of excepting jacks way. i am sure that many people will just hate it because of the homosexual content but it shows that there are feeling that surpass all the brainwashing we have had for years to be hetersexual. i am glad that so many are going to see this movie it may open there eyes to the fac

Tuesday, January 10, 05:31:29 PM

Five stars! Great acting and great story. The intolerance and hatred shown towards gays in the movie, to represent the societal structure in 60`s Wyoming, is obviously still around today, seen in some of the comments. This is how their love turned into tragedy for both Jack and Ennis, as well as their wives and children. If there wasn`t intolerance or hatred, every character in this movie would have had a MUCH better life.
