Tense and suspenseful, great acting is very convincing and leaves you waiting to see what comes next.

Edge of your seat craviness! Long but excellent!

It is better than I thought it would be. I love when they bring in the Navy Seals.

This movies involves terrorism, a hostage scene, with an intense final conclusion followed by gut wrenching emotional trauma. This is a movie that you will not want to miss. The plot was very well executed from the beginning to the finish. Tom Hanks again does not disappoint. My vote is five stars.

The somalis are pirates not by choice but thier careers as fishermen disappeared after overfishing by other countries..the obsenity of three US huge battleships roaring down on 3 shoeless Somalies unbelievable

Excellent movie. Tom Hanks delivers another outstanding performance that is worthy of an award. My body was tense during the whole movie and kept me on the edge. After the movie we were still discussing the events - why didn't these companies provide better support to the ship in these waters; now the USA has support this criminal for 33 yrs - think he got the better of the deal; knowing the judicial system he will get to stay in America (like he wants too) and the USA will support him. It creates a good discussion and leaves you with feelings long after the movie is over. I've been recommending friends to go and see it.

Even though you know the outcome, Tom Hanks manages to capture your attention and hold it throughout the movie. As the latter half of the movie unfolds, one gains a true appreciation of just what lengths the U.S. will go to when one of its citizens is in trouble abroad.

Hanks did a great job on this movie....especially the ending, I have never had a life/death experience but he brought tears to my eyes when he was on that exam table being checked out after the ordeal...not to give alot away for those that have not seen it yet

I saw the movie 'Captain Phillips' a couple of weeks ago. It had me sitting up in my seat the whole time. Near the end of the movie, the tears were streaming down my face. Tom Hanks is such a great actor! He should absolutely be nominated for an academy award and in my mind should win! I recommend this movie highly.

I was on the edge of my seat throughout the movie. Tension in the theater was palpable. A great movie & should earn Tom Hanks an Oscar.

very exceptionnal movie

I was looking foreword to Captain Phillips. Tom Hanks, who is one of my favourite actors, looked like he would be amazing. Also, I found the story to be interesting and gripping. Well, it was an intense and gripping film that had me on the edge of my seat! THE ACTING: Tom Hanks is amazing in this movie. His character is great, and he has some awesome moments. Especially the last 15 minutes of the movie. We’ll get to that later. The main standouts, however, were the anonymous people who played the Somali pirates. This is their first acting jobs ever, and they were so believable I actually shivered at one point. THE CINEMATOGRAPHY/DIRECTING: Paul Greengrass (Bourne Supremacy, United 93)

This is one of the best movies of the year. Tom Hanks did a excellent job in the lead role and the supporting cast made it all come together. If you hadnt seen it , you are missing a great movie

Tom Hanks captures the emotions of Captain Phillips' experience perfectly. That catharsis at the end was tremendous and Oscar-worthy. As usual Mr Greengrass did a terrific job directing this story. It kept your hearts pounding for the entire ride, like you were deep in the action with a vested interest. That is a great storyteller and hence what you get is a great movie.

I really enjoyed the movie. I like Tom Hanks. I am not a fan of violent movies and I enjoyed the suspense of this one.

A tense movie that captivats the audience from its very beginning with its suspensful story, great pace and fantastic performances from the cast. Tom Hanks delivers an incredible performance, probably his best since Cast Away. Captain Phillips will surely mark the return of Tom Hanks in the Academy Awards for Best Actor nominees and it can also make its way to the Best Picture nominees

Enjoyable movie!

Captain Phillips is an exciting ride about survival. It brings a scary reality of the dangers of pirate waters and being held hostage. Great acting 4/5!!!
