WOW! Even though you know the outcome, this movie had me biting my cuticles! Very, very good.

This was the best movie that I have saw this year. Tom Hanks did a extremely excellent job on the lead role and the supporting cast really came thru. They made this into a edge of the seat movie.

Just an awesome performance by Tom Hanks and cast, very,very suspenseful. My fingerprints are still in the arms of the chair which I was sitting. The best movie I have scene all year!

You could argue that I started to express interest in this movie after I first watched the SOUTH PARK episode "Fatbeard". That wasn't the only reason! Though, I wasn't aware of the whole situation with the Somali pirates until I first watched that episode back in February 2013, I discovered the movie and the true story behind sometime after. Plus, Tom Hanks is back in the game! The flaws I had with the movie were the pirates attempting to hijack the ship twice (as some people like me were wondering "why are they turning around and when will they come back?"), taking a long time to kidnap the captain, and having a hard time understanding their language. The most intense, riveting, and thrilling film I have seen in a long time; coupled with another fantastic performance by Tom Hanks. The director and star of this film allow you to not only witness post traumatic stress on screen, but also experience it for yourself.

It was a very realistic movie and also interesting. I would go see it again. Very good acting and a modern day pirate movie.

I think this movie is Oscar worthy for the film as well as Tom Hanks. It is pretty intense and a tad too long at 2 and half hours. Entertaining just the same, I highly recommend seeing this movie.

Good but not great. I really wanted to feel for the Somalia antagonists; wanted to know more about them. The film almost goes there (a few good attempts), but then pulls back. It would have been more interesting if they had taken the risk. I LOVE a layered antagonist with human qualities! Hanks was Hanks. He knows what he's doing, but he didn't deliver anything more in this film. I never really felt he was in jeopardy so I didn't get the adrenaline rush I expected through the climax. Not bad though.

Tom Hanks did a excellent acting job. The supporting cast was extremely well done. This all made for a entertainting and exciting movie to watch. Very fine plot that kept you on the edge of your seat. This is a must see movie.

Tom Hanks did a terrfic job in the lead role with lots of very excellent support from the rest of the cast. The movie held you in your seat with a very excellent ending that makes you realize how good life is and how dangerous it can be in some parts of the world.

I would rate this at 3.5 stars if I could. Good but not great. The director keeps the tension building right up to the end. I also thought the final scenes of the movie, focused on Hank's portrayal of Phillips, were highly realistic, and really ended the movie on an exceptional note.
