Major motion sickness- the camera never stopped shaking! I had my eyes closed for a good portion of the film. Clearly I wasn't the only one who felt sick from this movie - We had to wait to get into the theatre because the staff was still cleaning up vomit from the previous show.

Yes i think it does create realism.. For instance let's think for a minute wait I almost forgot you North Americans don't think with your head.. Get real bro just think about it.. Here is why the film feels real, it felt like it happened for real! and they just retrieved the video of the incident.. So there ya go buddy and is that too much for your puny head.. And if it was just a film it wouldn't have any meaning seeing that it felt like the mist.. Instead they added this camera work and guess what it made the film better and it worked! and if you don't think it was good well then that's your opinion... Being a Scene member I'm glad i did not have to pay to watch this movie as I found it to be a huge let down to the movie it looked like it was going to be when I saw the trailer when watching Transformers. The point of view was good keeping the realism to the movie, but too often it made me fill like a bigger budgeted version of the Blair Witch Project. The movie was incredibly boring for the first 20 minutes i.e., before the monster attack, and it left too many unanswered questions. Honestly, whats the point of showing a quarantine scene if there never going to expand on it? The movie ended great as it had a dark outlook but seriously, save your money and wait for the DVD.

I can see how some people might not enjoy the movie (camera shaking) but if you can get over that and get into the story of the characters and the non stop action from start to finish and throw in a few surprises I think its worth the price of admission. My wife and I really enjoyed it , we never took our eyes off the screen. GO CHECK IT OUT bonk

so ... shaking the camera around like a chicken having a seizure creates realism for some of you elitist foreigners ... maybe if you realized that even an eight year old with a video camera that has an image stabilizer can shoot a movie better than these "reality" pictures are trying to use in technique to give them an authentic feel ... get real, even for just a second or two.

i really enjoyed cloverfield. its about time that a new well done godzilla style movie comes out. as i was leaving the theater i heard some punk teen say"its just blair witch meets godzilla", "i hated it" well im sorry that its not scary movie 87 or some other crappy teen movie. this movie was original, different, entertaining, and enjoyable. though im sure it may have caused motion sickness to some, those who stayed got to see a great movie.

THIS was the worst movie ever!!!! It was a super long blaire-which project. It was annoying and aggravating, and very slow moving. A waste of time and money.

I watch a lot of horror movies...and this one actually scared the heck out of me!! realistic....

The movie was crap. Boring crap. Made me dizzy. Hm. But, hearing MUCC's song 'Buzz' playin' just made me smile. Japanese Rock, forever, please~.

Had to close my eyes through 60% of the movie. It didn't have one moment where the camera was still. The movie was okay, but I thought the story line was too simple.

YOU WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! Well I have to say I had very high expectation regarding that movie, the preview is great but the whole movie is a documentary (Almost like Blair Witch) NO story just teenagers runing in the city to escape something and the army trying to fight it. The ENDING is REALLY BAD!

A very good film.. And no, no one payed us to give it a good review.. The reason why these people gave it a good review is for it's realism,and very good special effect...

I could see why people would not like this film.. Because of the camera work.. However I found it brilliant, because the fact that the director wanted everyone to feel realism and not just another popcorn film!and the fact that a lot of people did not get the concept nor what the director was putting in front of them... This explain why a lot of "Americans" are pretty dumb, no offense!!! Hello people horror films are not suppose to be a happy ending nor is it suppose to be a simple ride!

Wow. Great movie from the perspective of realism. If an alien landed in New York and someone was taping it, this is how it would have come out. Would have been 5 stars if it weren't for the realistic, but painful camera work (blair witch style) that made some people throw up. The more I think about this movie, the more I am impressed with it. This movie was a CINEMATIC EVENT. Not just a movie. Awards should be won.

My eyes were glued to the screen throughout the whole film, i was blown away by the camera movements, kind of like my own home movies, and the monster was pretty damn good.

It was an OK movie..except for the f**kin thing with the camera ..The monster was way kool as is the destruction of Manhattan yet once again. Not enuf blood and gore tho. This movie has potential to be something bigger. ( if the cameras were stationary). I feel ripped off tho. Another waste of time and money !!

This movie is awesome. The people that are hating on it either don't know much about it or are 14. The motion sickness part i understand but to say it has no special effects?? c'mon, the entire movie is special effects...they must have been overlooked because they were so realistic people didnt notice they were actually special effects?? Missiles exploding into buildings isnt special effects, buildings collapsing etc. Yeah there was not much explanation at the end of the movie but if you pay attention to the subtle clues you will learn that it will all be explained in the sequel. ugh i so wish i listened to ppl who said itll make u motion sick. i didnt watch three quarters of this horrible horrible movie cuz i felt so sick from the camera shaking..guess it did ok on the trying to make it look realistic end, but the story line was bad and it was just..bad :( i want my money and hour and a half of my life back please

Great movie, for what it is meant to be. Loved the monster and the idea of everything going to crap in less then 24hrs. is so realistic...I will see it again, to pick up extra details which might have been missed. - Dino

No answers in this film only questions. I felt like I was watching a trailer for 2 hours. Just getting a chance to see the creature wasn't my idea of a payoff. Mr. Abrams owes me $12:50!

I thought it was one of the most realistic monster movie from the eyes of a camcorder. Yes, you can get camcorder sickness like the blair witch and yes, the begining was a bit too long to build up the characters, but once it gets going, hang on to your seats! It's a wild ride! This movies probably ain't for everyone. I saw with my buddy and he hated it. But I loved it! - ST

This is, by far, the worst movie I have ever seen. Nothing I can say can emphasize strongly enough what a waste of time and money this disaster is. TOTAL CRAP!!!

Blair witch meets New York meets motion sickness. The commercials are the most stable parts of the movie... everything else is shaky as hell. Be forewarned.

If you get motion sickness, do NOT watch this movie. Documentary type movie that doesn't really have a purpose, so you leave the movie thinking.... that's it?? It's not Godzilla.. some stupid monster with these little spider things that fall off the body.

WOW... Give huge credit to the marketing team behind this movie. The trailer is the only thing worth watching. If you enjoyed Blair Witch you may enjoy this but the camera does not stop shaking the entrie move. Wait for the Bootleg Copies Folks.

Too much hype for this movie. Sure there were some good parts, but the only thing is really did for me is give me a headache.

Worthless movie, Those people who loved it are total tools that bought into the viral marketing campaign and can't admit to themselves that they were suckered. Bad acting, insipid characters with horrible dialogue. I don't mind movies with no plot or character development if the rest of the movie makes up for it, but this movie had nothing going for it except the youtube video cam gimmick. the special FX would have been okay if the movie was made on a budget of 50grand but it cost over 30 million so the FX were not even up to par. Most useless waste of my time and money.

Not worth the hype!Novelty of hand held filming wears off quickly.With characters you don't care about and a lame beast.Probably would have worked better as a regular monster film with traditional filming.Where is Godzilla when we need him?
