This is an excellent family movie that will appeal to children and parents alike. The 3D effects are exceptional, particularly a scene that takes place in space. Steve Carell, as Gru, displays a nice touch with his vaguely Eastern European accent. Jason Segel is his usual terrific presence as Carell's rival, and Julie Andrews makes a great comeback as Gru's crabby mother. The themes of overcoming adversity and family are evident throughout the movie but mostly this is just a really entertaining, very well made animated romp that will keep kids happy--and for a parent, that's all you can ask from a movie.

Good movie

Wasn't expecting much...and was pleasantly surprised. I loved it! I will never think of "minions" the same again! Or Glow Sticks for that matter...

So refreshingly funny. Animation Wonderful. Storyline was creative. Enjoyed. I think it would be awesome in 3D.

a cute fun family flick with some heart, unfortunately there are not too many laughs to go along with it. the cast is good but the movie seemed to loose its point in the family morals, the point that it should be funny.
