Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Entertaining!Those who have not read the books will not like it/get it as much as those who have.It set up important points needed for the last movie to work (which will hopefully have enough action to satisfy everyone, since this movie did lack it a little). Overall, I thought it was enjoyable.I found the humor refreshing, though i have heard comments that it was out of place, oh well.

This film had two conflicting elements that made it hard to watch. It starts off very dark, very ominous, very much in line with the greater story arc. This plays out for 30 minutes or so. Then a romantic plot takes over and lasts nearly an hour and a half. I actually found myself laughing at how uncomfortable the characters seemed with their sexuality and adolescence right before the climactic conclusion. This gave the climactic conclusion no much emotional resonance for me. The ending, as a result, came away very contrived as though it were an afterthought to tie up every loose end possible in 20 minutes or less.

Great movie for Harry Potter fans. If you've read the books and know what's going on it's very fun! But if you've never read the books you probably will get bored. There is a lot missing from the book, but OBVIOUSLY as they can't put all the information into a movie which is already 3 hours. It's funny, magical, and brilliantly done

I've been very disappointed with the HP movies in the past, but was pleasantly surprised with this one! It was the HP film that has stayed the most faithful to the books so true fans will enjoy it best.

waste of time and money

The movie was way diffrent than the book.

The worst of the series. Too much teenage romance and not enough action. Not very impressive.

Not much of a story line and not much for visual effects. Nothing special or memorable. Disappointing!

Harry Potter is finally back on the big screen and I gotta say that it was worth the wait. The acting was great and you have to love the good ol british humour, and the special effects were good. As always they leave scenes out from the book that I could have scene. But...ya know...you can't always get what you want. Overall, good movie.

A faithful Potter fan who likes all things Potter. We had a great time dressing up in character and hanging put with other Harry devotees. I enjoyed the humour, especially Harry's spider impression.

I was disappointed with the movie. Whoever called the shots on what to film and what cut out is not a Harry Potter fan! I would have sat and watched a three to four hour Harry Potter movie if it followed the book better than this movie. The next movies better be close to the Deadly Hallow book. If not, I'll never buy the DVD's.

complete waste of a movie. i've seen all the previous hp movies (which were good) but this was a horrible disappointment. almost fell asleep 3 times throughout the movie and was constantly waiting for something good or exciting to happen...that's when the credits started rolling!

something lost in this production. missing the magic of previous installments. all previous films brought forth the magic of Hogwarts Castle. no such thing this time around. stale, still, silent. minimal. where i was wowed before, i kept waiting for exciting in this film. only 2 exciting scenes that i can think off, one of which was the death eaters staking the Weasleys and destroying their home; the other, the ocean cave scene. the rest...boring. what a waste of money, sadly to say....

It. Is. Amazing. who cares about the rumor that there are 53 or whatever producing mistakes? You won't even notice them. It is three hours of perfection.

too many important things missing from book, the movie dragged a bit in the middle

I found the movie long, almost boring, due to the nothing much happens. There are two events that make this movie important in the series: the death of a major character and the name of the half blood prince. The rest seems to be filler for the next movie.

this movie was magically amazing

I cannot say that the movie was bad, but it did not do the book justice at all. I do not think that enough effort was put into making the movie as good as it could have been. Hoping to see a bit more effort put into the last two movies.

I loved the humor of this movie. All the teenage hormones made for some funny stuff. Can't wait for the 2 movies of book 7 to finish off the series.

kinda boring

This movie did not follow the storyline much ,the last scene wasnt like the book nore the middle a bit to the end (getting the horcux) harry flurting constatly never happened nor the ron + hermine thing in this book >>>(next book) I can get that have to squezz it but what was with all the talking?! If you read the book the middle as alot of action such as finding out who the half-brood prince is (in the movie harry could care less ; less grander tryed) He wanted to know in the book and that started a big storyline. 1/5 This series has been running on fumes for some time. the producers know their core audience consists of undemanding fifth graders so no attempt is made to tell a proper story. Weak, even by Potter standards.

It was a good movie. I was not happy that it ignored so much of the book. I am happy they are going to break the last book it to two movies so it will do some justice to the story.

My opinion is that since this episode is about clue-hunting, the securing of the memory from Slughorn is (one important) culmination point. Watching the movie, one doesn't feel the momentum buiding towards that point. One doen't feel the subtle humour of "Felix at work". That burial scene was a big disappointment. They should have used the director of "No. 3". That was the best one of all so far. D. Yates doen't seem to have the imagination nor the ingenuity.

Excellent absoultly Ecellent

More filler and build up than a Stand alone movie. This was by far the worst of the series and quite a let in all. Still the main characters are great at what they do, the supporting villains have moments of brilliance but Harry does not seem to grow much in this one. I felt it could have been a lot shorter or at least including a little more cohesiveness. The other films do a great job of being stand alone entertainment, this one just does not do that.

Little dissipointed at times. like with fenier, hes not a wizard. Hermonie seemed way to diffrent from past movies and the books. But over all it was a pretty good movie.

Very slow moving, and seems to include scenes which add nothing to the story line.
